~Michelle's POV~
When I woke up, something felt off, then “achew!” I sneezed “no!” I didn't need to be sick, now of all times. My time with Kayla was limited and I did not want to be confined to a bed.
“Awe, do you have the sniffles, Wolfy?” I heard Kayla ask kissing my neck from her place in my arms.
I groaned and shook my head, trying to play off the sneeze as insignificant. "Just a little tickle in my nose, that's all," I replied, nuzzling Kayla's hair. "I'll be fine, must’ve been when we fell in the lake last night. Hey- how aren't you sick? Does it have to do with you being a vampire?”
Kayla chuckled softly, her breath tickling my skin. "Oh, being a vampire definitely helps with avoiding normal illnesses," she admitted, her eyes twinkling mischievously. "But don't worry about me, Wolfy. I'll take care of you if you do get sick." She leaned in closer, pressing a gentle kiss to my lips before pulling away with a playful smile.
I couldn't help but grin at her words, feeling a surge of warmth in my chest. “I love you," I said brushing a strand of hair from her face, watching her expression light up.
“I love you too!” She said excitedly making me chuckle
“Now where’s my flirty vampire gone?” I asked.
“Oh she’s still here,” she said smirking at me, her eyes darkening with mischief. "You know I can't resist you, Wolfy," Kayla purred, trailing her fingers lightly down my chest. I shivered at her touch, feeling a rush of desire coursing through me. her hands slipped under my shirt sending shivers through me.
I closed my eyes, savoring the sensation of Kayla's touch against my skin. Despite the slight chill in the room, her hands ignited a fire within me that warmed me to my core. My breath hitched as she leaned in closer, her lips brushing tantalizingly against mine.
I quickly pulled away and sat up just in time to sneeze again “Ugh!” I groan in annoyance.
"Looks like you really are getting sick, Wolfy," Kayla said, concern flickering in her eyes as she reached out to touch my forehead. "You're burning up. Maybe we should get you some medicine and make sure you rest." Despite her worry, there was a teasing glint in her eyes as she added, "I guess I'll have to save the fun for another time."
“I’m looking forward to- achew!” I sneezed, cutting off my sentence
“You stay here, I’ll get you some tea, breakfast, and medicine,” she said kissing my head as she got up.
I watched Kayla disappear from the room with a mix of gratitude and frustration. Gratitude for her caring nature and the way she always knew how to take care of me, but frustration at my own body for choosing now of all times to get sick.
Soon enough Kayla returned with a steaming cup of herbal tea and a plate of toast, she settled back on the bed beside me. "Here, drink this," she said, handing me the cup. "It should help with your congestion. that's what Rayleigh said anyway ”
I took the cup from her, inhaling the soothing aroma of the herbal tea before taking a careful sip. The warmth spread through me, comforting and reassuring. Kayla sat close beside me, gently combing through my hair in a comforting manner. “Sorry about this, *sniffle* I should be back to normal in no time, thanks to my werewolf immune system”
“You just relax Micky," Kayla said patting my head before going back to combing through my hair. I leaned into Kayla's touch, feeling the tension slowly melt away as I savored her soothing presence. Despite my stuffy nose, being with her made everything feel a little bit better. I couldn't help but smile at her, my heart swelling with love and gratitude for having her by my side. As I finished the tea and nibbled on the toast, Kayla's gentle ministrations worked their magic, lulling me into a state of relaxation.
