BLACK WIDOW

CHAPTER FIVE
Bitter Little Bitch

Connor wasn't home when I woke up this morning.

From what I can recall, I was up until 4am, waiting for him to stumble through the front door. High, drunk, a mess... But he didn't. I had no fucking idea if he was in a safe place, where he was, who he was with.

When I got to the PC at 10am, I still hadn't heard a single peep from him.

It was now 1pm; I'd finally finished unpacking all the boxes. Got my workout in, that included some cardio. Met with Shawn and Cora about NXT tonight. Ran through my match with Cora and got to know her really well.

I was on the floor beside the ring, and just decided I was going to attempt to contact him one more time, then I was done trying.

Riley: You're welcome at NXT tonight. I hope you come.

I stared at the message for too long. Scrolling up through the old ones I've sent. Waiting... Waiting... Wondering that maybe he'd see this one and reply. He'd get excited for my first night on NXT, and he'd want to be here more than he wanted to slob around on someone's couch.

Someone's bed...

But who fucking knows.

I chucked my phone down and hopped back up on the apron, joining the little rotation we had built here. We take turns subbing in with others, that way we get to spar with all different types of styles and people.

Smiling at Jaida Parker near me, she barely gave me a reaction back. I met her for the first time earlier, and I don't know what her problem was, she hardly spoke back to me.

Watching Charlotte and Lash spar was incredible. Lash... Oh, she was incredible. Everyone was fucking incredible. When Lash subbed out, tagging in Roxanne Perez, I nodded in respect as she eagerly charged at Charlotte. No fear, just straight energy. I could see she was already so hard-working and deserved to be NXT champion right now.

Something warm sprinkled at my ankle. I looked down-

Rhea was there, dropping her bag off her shoulder and hopping up beside me.

"Hey." I spoke first, obvious wide smile on my face. It was good to see her back around.

"How're you going?" She asked, her voice a little rough like she had a slow morning and only just spoke for the first time. "Ready for tonight?"

"Good, good." I lied and pretended I didn't vent to her on my back step last night. That everything was ok. "I think so." I looked down her side profile as she watched the sparring going on. I found myself stuck on her lips. They way they softly parted and how pink they were. I was envious of how soft she looked.

I nearly didn't see Charlotte in front of me, holding her hand out. I tagged in, stepping between the ropes, accidently brushing my ass against Rhea's thigh on the way in.

Roxanne circled me, and I mimicked her. She was going to be a lot quicker than me. A lot more agile. But I was stronger.

I swung at her. She ducked. I kicked forwards. She ducked. Roxanne rebounded off the ropes and before I knew it, she wrapped me up in a hurricurana successfully. I rolled with the sell and into the turn buckle. I held myself up.

Roxy ran at me. I swerved to avoid her, and she hit the turnbuckle. I grabbed her around the stomach and rolled us both back in an o'connor roll.
