NXT was tomorrow night and I couldn't wait to finally do this. Part of me was excited to perform and show the WWE universe who Riley Rivera was, the other half was excited, so this feeling of anticipation I've had all week would leave.

I couldn't fuck this up. For anything.

Sparring with Lash today was as torturous as last time. At least afterwards, I got to torture her in my own special way. I had to admit I adored working with her, and I couldn't wait to do it on a much bigger stage than in here.

Once we wrapped up the sparring session, Beth and Adam showed up, arriving exactly on the time they said they would. Almost simultaneously, Adam held the door open for Rhea as she came in, giving him a look as she walked to the weights area.

I hadn't seen her for the past week or so. Not here. Not even out and about at home. I was growing pretty worried and thought about texting her a few times. Until the image of the last time I saw her came back to me. Her all over who I assume her girlfriend is.

Some weird part of me felt sick when I thought about it. I was just worried about her. She's usually around more often.

I resisted the urge to try and check in with her, even when she looked at me I stayed near the ring, waiting for Beth and Adam to come over.

"Hey, Riley." Adam put a hand around my shoulders. "I noticed you've been in a lot this week, think you're ready for your debut?"

I nod keenly up at him. "I think so, I feel ready."

"Great." Beth said with a smile. "Adam wanted to spar with you for a bit to see how you're really tracking. I've got some paperwork to do, so I'll be back shortly." She tightened the bag on her shoulder and left.

"You ready?" Adam asked, shrugging off his jacket.

I nodded, and wiped some frayed pieces of my sweaty hair back, catching a look at Rhea. She was looking at me. Wait-

She was looking at Adam in the ring.

I thought back to when she told me if I needed to work on in-ring moves, to go to Beth. Charlotte or even her.

I looked back to Adam.

I wasn't going to tell him no. This was the Edge.

Rolling into the ring, I prepped myself with shaking my already jelly like limbs. I mimicked him and began circling, watching for where I was going to strike first.

As we circled, I could see Rhea was still watching us. She stood up-

"Hey, Adam." Charlottes voice cut through the air and she was stood outside the ring. I saw the concerned look on her face. "Mind if I sub in? I need some practice myself."

Adam stopped and breathed deeply in, looking quite annoyed. But he smiled and nodded. "Go for it, Char." He got out of the ring and Charlotte swiftly took his place in front of me.
