BLACK WIDOW
CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE
Black Widow•
3 Months Later
"You got this, kiddo." Phil was giving me a speech, trying to calm my nerves down for me. "As soon as you step out there, all these nerves will just melt away." He rubbed my shoulder comfortingly. "Just imagine how proud Amy is gonna be. Go be a superstar, Riley." He gave me a quick peck on the head, then his eyes flickered to the left.
I glanced that way, and saw Rhea coming over with so much excitement on her face.
Oh my god!
I didn't think she would get back in time!
I beamed and bounced and met her in a big bear hug, one that I desperately fucking needed right now. "How're you going? Are you ready? You look ready?" Rhea pulled back and eyes me down, she gave some knuckles to Phil as he passed. "You good?"
"I'm nervous as fuck." I confess and take a deep breath in.
Rhea nods in understanding and holds my shoulders. "That's normal, Red. Just focus okay? Soak in the moment. You're going to crush it, like always."
I took another deep breath in. I clapped my hands together and bounced on my toes. "Fuck, let's do it. I'm ready." I slapped my chest a little, then at my face, which impressed Rhea. She grinned proudly at me.
"Riley!" Someone called from the gorilla.
Rhea pecked me on the temple. "Go win that shit." She told me.
I nodded and turned away, heading towards the gorilla.
Giving Roxy the biggest hug and thank you before I made my entrance, Phil was so right when he said all the nerves were going to melt away. They so did, and I'd never felt so happy. So achieved. So bloody proud of myself for getting where I am in such a short space of time.
I was going to win the NXT Women's championship.
For Amy, and myself.
Watching Roxy make her entrance, just made me even more exited to do this.
As the match began, we bathed in the cheers and the excitement towards us both. The crowd was cheering and chanting for both of us, it wasn't completely one sided, which just made this feel even more competitive between us.
Between high flying moves, my many attempts at submissions, I was just about at my wits end. Roxy's grit and determination was incredibly impressive. She was writhing in pain, and I was an exhausted sweating mess. Lying on the mat, there was only one more portion of the match to do.
The finish.
Roxy and I found eachother in the centre of the ring, slugging our fists at one another, egging the other on. We rose to our feet during the ovations.
I whipped Roxy into the ropes, ducked her swing. She rebounded again, and jumped onto my back I. Pop rocks, but she didn't deliver it, instead I bucked her off, pushed her back into the ropes. Then rolled her up.
