bfdi 1b - pretty rushed but okay

i feel like bfdi 1b is honestly alot more overlooked in the grand scheme of osc conseus i mean i feel like everyone just writes it off as the second part to bfdi 1a, which is kinda sad.

i'd be lying if i said i remembered much about this episode however, so lets go over it and see if its just another old school bfdi episode or if it is a hidden gem.

i did not mention this in the bfdi 1a review, but the animation and even voices in this are really bad especially comparing to our standards today or even bfdi 1a.

while yes they made this when they were 12 years old, i'd be lying if i said this had quality animation. maybe going into this i had much too high expectations but seriously.

and yeah the voices here kinda suck. its really clear that cary and michael both did not have an idea on how each character would sound like.

for example pencil randomly switches inflections, firey in this doesnt at all have a raspy voice and sounds more like pen then pen in this.

the episode starts where we left off, pin and leafy choose their teams.

in this section of the episode, its pretty clear that they wrote this while having in mind a more inspired version of total drama then their own thing

what i mean is that there is alot more love and honestly rivalry going around then an average tpot episode, i know that bfb/tpot/bfdia is suppose to be the gold standard but honestly at this point they could start incorporating relationships into their shows.

as i see it now jacknjellify is too big to fail and most of their audience has at this point grown up and matured so, i dont see a problem with this.

tangent aside, the whole choosing phase is a bit weird. leafy just picks random people, really only pins choices make sense since shes choosing atleast friend groups.

in the end, its pretty obvious to see who will win the organised team with already well built friendships or the random stew of people bound together by leafys niceness.

moving on to the actual challenge, its pretty good if not with a couple of holes mainly the fact that there are no rules

like the only rule is that they should sail the canal and break the tie but in the end leafy and friends dont even sail it, they skip nearly all of it because they bumped into the cherries.

but other than that HUGE plot hole in  the challenge section of the video is pretty good if not kind of random.

but its the good type of random where you like to know what happens next. if we compare this with new episodes of bfdia, the random there is just kinda forced but here it has atleast some logical sense.

and it is clearly rushed in the end which definitely brings down some points.

honestly this episode is not that bad.

yeah the animations sub par and the characters voices arent really too dissimilar but if you ignore that you get a pretty good  episode of bfdi.
