critically ranking bfdi episodes

bfdi 22 - biased beauty contest

bfdi 22 is sure an episode, the challenge is a challenge and the characters do sure do their thing

in all seriousness, the main gimmick of this episode is annoucer being replaced by firey replacement speaker box and flower replacement speaker box.

other than that and its two challenges, its a pretty normal bfdi episode, if not being one of the shortest if not the shortest episode to date, i've already gone through how an episode can be bad because its short so i wont dwell on it here.

but yeah lets see if the gimmick will save an already pretty average episode just from the runtime.

episode starts out with firey showing flower a bug, flower however hates bugs and destroyes the entire platform they are in, luckily leafy saves her husband, however throws him onto bombys string which causes him to explode, which causes spongy which for some reason was one a very unstable tower to fall down and kill announcer ending the cold open.

this cold open is pretty weird and wacky, its also very exciting and just builds and builds before you get the final reveal of announcer dying and the episodes gimmick being set up.

so firey brings out his speaker box however rocky barfs on it so flower brings out hers that even has a tongue, they argue before leafy makes a compromise of them both hosting.

i really like the idea of an object show of just two guys who have very differing moral compasses and there would be maybe two challenges each time kind of like in this episode. would be very interesting to watch like in this episode.

anyways cake at stake happens and in this closest voting ever, flower manages to stay in the game. a miracle to be honest and were at our final four, oh i mean five uh spongys here i guess.

they all get houses before we start our next contest to escape the volcano, honestly pretty good concept just really relys on the actual escaping and action of the volcano.

firey obviously clears the first hurdles since he can swim in lava however the others seem content just throwing themselfves at the lava.

leafy and bubble discover using spongy as an object makes them able to cross the first hurdle and actually start the challenge, flower uses this aswell.

we go on to some rapid pistons which while dont damage really anyone, they are pretty exciting to watch.

then theres just a lava geyser which doesnt damage firey and wouldnt have damaged leafy if she was just fast enough.

then theres a race for the ladder up top, flower says shes going to win dream island and the others are going to win nightmare moon before a fire fish stops them from escaping the volcano.

firey tries to escape but is eaten and the others burn in a sudden eruption.

the tiebreaker is a beauty contest which firey and flower win what a surprise.

honestly only being six minutes really hinders this episode, it had some really cool ideas and would be one of the best bfdi episodes if it was just longer.

even with its short runtime, the episode is still pretty good, definitely not bad or even average.

its like a 7.25/10 give or take.
