Chapter 26

Cade gets woken up by Cruz. He is hurting. Cade apologizes and jumps up and gets medicine. He helps Cruz get up and they use the bathroom. They sit on the couch and the two will talk. Cade(C) and Cruz(Cr).

(C) Are you hungry?

(Cr) A little.

(C) There is left over pizza. I can make sandwiches. I can run down the street to the diner and order us something.

(Cr) Pizza is fine.

(C) Ok.

Cade gets up and he warms them both pizza up. He warms Zander some up too and hands Cruz his food.

(C) I will be right back. I am going to run this food to Zander.

(Cr) Ok.

Cade takes the food and knocks on the door. Zander opens it and smiles. Cade walks in and sits the food in the microwave. He puts the drink in the fridge. He hugs Zander(Z) and the two will talk.

(Z) How is everything going?

(C) Good, we are fixing to eat. We just took more medicine.

(Z) Do you need help with anything?

(C) No, I am good.

(Z) Ok.

(C) I will respond to your message when I get back. I was asleep.

(Z) I said I changed my contact info for them as well. They are coming over tonight. Mom is making diner. She said they want to eat with us.

(C) Good.

(Z) You head back upstairs. If you need me call me.

(C) I have a question?

(Z) Ok.

(C) Could we all do something tonight if Cruz feels ok?

(Z) We can talk about it tonight.

(C) Ok.

Cade hugs Zander and he leaves. Zander calls Cruz and tells him Cade asked. Cruz gets excited and says ok. He is waiting for Cade to get back. He waited to eat for Cade. He moved their food to the table and is sitting. Cade walks in and sits with him. The two go back to talking and eating.

(Cr) Was Zander, ok?

(C) Yeah, he said he would be here later. Mom and dad are coming over tonight. They are feeding us.

(Cr) Oh ok. Do you want me to go home for that?

(C) What do you mean?

(Cr) I don't want to ruin your time with your parents.

(C) Your mom and dad. Sorry, they said you are ok with us calling them that. I am sorry. I should have asked you first.

(Cr) I didn't know they spoke to you about it. I am ok with it.

(C) Good, we are excited to have a mom and dad figure who love us.

(Cr) Me too.

They go back to eating and they finish up. Cade washes the dishes, and he gets the clothes ready.

(C) Do you want to nap while I go do clothes?

(Cr) Can I come with you?

(C) I think you should stay and rest.

(Cr) There are chairs in there aren't there?

(C) Yes.

(Cr) I can sit with you and talk. I promise I will not help.
