The room that they were made to wait in was small, but wasn't nearly as bad as other rooms in the hospital. Julia was at least able to take off her sunglasses in there. She was pacing back and forth while Gemma and Jax sat down. Tara had gone out to get Abel for them.

Tara came back holding Abel in a small bundle of blankets in her arms. She handed him over to Jax, who took his son with a bright smile.

"Hey," Jax spoke softly as he sat back down with Abel, "I don't know how to break this to you, kid, but I'm your old man."

Julia tore her eyes away from the scene for only a second to see Gemma and Tara leave the room. She didn't know what drama was still going on between them, but she didn't want to get into it. Especially not now.

Julia crouched down in front of Jax, taking a close look at Abel's face, "Hey there, Abel."

Abel let out a small noise and Julia could've cried at how adorable he was. The entire scene in front of her was a picture of perfection in her eyes. She had known that Jax would make a good father, but this just proved it.

Jax looked at her, "You wanna hold him?"

Julia felt like her hands had clammed up immediately and she stood up, "I don't know, Jax. I...Look, I like the kid, but I don't know what I'm doing."

"You think I do? Just hold him," Jax stood up.

Julia wasn't even given a second chance to protest as Jax was already moving Abel into her arms. Her entire body had stiffened up as she felt the weight in her arms. She had never given motherhood a thought for herself before. Didn't know if she wanted kids or if she'd even be a good mom to one. She always thought that she was too messed up to even be around children before she met Opie's kids and completely fell in love with them, but that still hadn't convinced her to have her own.

Jax watched her as she settled in, rocking Abel lightly in her arms with a small smile forming on her face. He didn't even know if she realized what she was doing. But she was doing it. He didn't know when he had fallen in love with her, but he could recount every moment that he realized he did.

"You'd make a great mom, Jules," Jax commented.

Julia glanced up at him, "That's the second time you've said that to me. Why?"

Jax just continued to smile at her.

"You can't ask me to replace Wendy, Jax," Julia blurted out.

"No, I wasn't-That isn't what I want."

Julia didn't even think Jax knew what he was saying. It wasn't as if they had been together for that long, and they hadn't exactly had the 'relationship' talk. They knew they were something. They knew that they didn't want to be with anyone else. But that was all they had said. No matter what they were or weren't, though, Julia loved him and she loved Abel.

"I'll try my best to take care of him," Julia smiled down at Abel.

"All we ask is for one fucking night of peace," Julia huffed as she got off the back of Jax's bike and followed him into the bar.

Not even 30 minutes into being with Abel, they had been called to the bar. A few Mayans had come in and shot the place up. The Irishman they were meeting with was shot, but he wasn't dead. Either way, that made for a nasty situation that Julia didn't know if they could handle. The extent of her medical knowledge came to shoddily stitching up cuts and putting a bandaid on. So it wasn't like she could do much to help.

Jax put his hand on Clay's shoulder, "You ok?"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Clay waved him off, "I can't track down Gemma though."
