A Love So Playful

IX- Talk Things Out

English class came to an end and it was now recess. The student all went to the cafeteria, except for Kendrick who felt depressed as he sat in his chair, his head looking down, his eyes closed and his arms crossed.

Nero looks at the depressed man before leaving the room. Then as they left, Kendrick's friend went inside only to see a depressed Kendrick.
The man's best friend was worried for his friend who felt down.

Meanwhile, Nero and Skyler we're eating at the cafeteria. Nero bought a bowl of mac and cheese while Skyler bought a bowl of soup.

"I thought your on a diet?" Nero asked as he stared at his best friend with his brow raised "Yeah I am" Skyler said "Well what are you eating?" Nero asked as he was looking at Skyler's food. "Its soup! It has vitamins so its better for my diet!" Skyler stated.

Then Skyler found the soup very tasty and finished the bowl less than a minute. "That was fast?" Nero stated as he was surprised "Yeah, stay right here! I want more soup!" Skyler said as he stood up and walks to the counter to buy more.

Nero was eating looking at his food when he heard someone sit besides him.

"That was quick?" Nero stated as he looked away from the food and faced who he expected was to be Skyler but turns out to be Kendrick's friend who he was talking to earlier.

"The name's Alonzo Aiken, you probably know me right?" Alonzo said "Yeah  your Kendrick's friend right?" Nero stated "Indeed" Alonzo said as he doesn't look at the brown haired man
"What brings you here?" Nero asked

"You tell me what you did to my best friend!" Alonzo said with a deep voice
"I just wanted som-" Nero stated but was cut off by the man "Because of you, the man is now in your room crying on the inside, almost like a dead body, I could not talk to him and even get his attention! He won't even respond if I punch him!" Alonzo said in a sharp tone

"Oh..." Nero said as he doubted his previous decision on distancing himself to the man who liked him.

"Don't you know Kendrick really wants you, real bad! He wants to be with you every day talking, having fun and he wants to show you how much he is crazy for you!"

"Really?" Nero asked

"Yesterday, I was getting sick of hearing him repeat your name over and over to me saying how he was turned on by your charms!" Alonzo said as he finally looked at Nero

"I-" Nero spoke but was cut off "Tell me! What did you do to upset my best friend like that?!?" Alonzo said with an angry tone.

"Look, Im sorry for what I did, I just took his hands off me leaving him on the hall..." Nero stated "But why did you do it?!? I thought you said you like Kendrick too!?!" Alonzo asked with a sharp tone

"I do, but, I'm too coward to call it love" Nero said as he looked down shocking the man sitting beside him.
"I had a love story just 2 years ago but it didn't end well and it left a permanent scar in my heart, I didn't bring myself to love again, because I'm afraif it might happen again" Nero stated as he lets out a single tear.

"I understand where you're coming from, but that's not Kendrick! He wouldn't hurt you any way possible. He only wants to protect you. Cherish you. Love you. He is really passionate about you as you were someone special to him, a person that he can't find another one similar to your charms" Alonzo said as he lets out a calm expression.

Nero was touched. "But I don't even know what I feel for him" Nero said.
"Well what do you feel for him?" Alonzo asked. "I don't even know, it's confusing me" Nero stated but then the man puts a hand in Nero's shoulder. "Look, it doesn't matter what you feel for him, the thing that matters is what Kendrick feels for you, sure you can feel nothing for him but he won't, whether you like him or not, he won't stop admiring you! He would fight for what he feels! He will show to you how passionate he is to love you, prove that he really wants you bad. Until he gets you to love him back" Alonzo stated as he lets out a smile.

Nero remained speechless. "Now, what do you say you go to Kendrick and talk things out?" Alonzo said as he pats the brown haired man's shoulder "I will, thanks for the talk Alonzo" Nero stated. "Its my pleasure Nero! Now, talk to him, we have a game later and I don't want him to still be frozen in your room" Alonzo stated with a joking expression. Nero finished his food and ran back to their room. He arrived and saw Kendrick still in the position he last saw him.

"Kendrick..." Nero said as he walks toward the depressed man. Then the man breaks free from his trance and looking back at the brown haired man again.

"Nero... Uhh... What brings yo-" Kendrick mumbled saying these words but was cut off by a very happy Nero hugging him. Kendrick was caught off guard. "Nero! What's wrong?" Kendrick asked as he was so confused for Nero's sudden gesture after he literally said to give him some space.

"Sorry how I acted earlier, I did that because at first I didn't want to love you back, because I was too afraid to love, but Alonzo talked to me earlier saying how much you love me, how you would fight for me, how you want me so fucking bad. How you would never change what you feel about me" Nero stated. Kendrick was at a loss for words as he looks at the man he liked with a shocked expression. "Its true I'm afraid to love because I don't want to get hurt, but I trust you, I trust you that you will love me and never hurt me!" Nero stated as he lets go of the man's body and hold his hand.

"Nero... Does that mean-" Kendrick asked but was interrupted as Nero made him stand up "Yes, I'm ready to love you back" Nero stated as he hugged Kendrick. Kendrick was bursting happiness inside but could only let out a smile as he hugged back Nero.

"Nero, all you said were very true, I will promise myself that I will love you and never hurt you!" Kendrick said

Then Kendrick pulls Nero's head closer until their lips touched each other. Kendrick gives his boyfriend a kiss and Nero brings back the gesture.
They immediately stopped and looked at each others eyes and lets out a laugh and hugs each other.

"You wanna go out with me after class?" Kendrick asked to the brown haired man with a hopeful face.

"Where are we goin'?" Nero asked

"Its a secret? So, will you come?" Kendrick asked again.

"How could I resist a face like that?" Nero said as he lets out a laugh before kissing hid boyfriend again.

For once, after years of loneliness and despair from my previous love story, I finally felt safe again, I felt loved, felt happy and felt like I wanna explode in happiness.
