Shit. We noticed Elodie was crying on the other side of the window.-Why does this happen to us? - She shouted throwing her bracelet to the wall.
We looked to where she was looking at; her mom's bed.
She wasn't watching us, just her mom.
The doctors were holding me so I couldn't move, but I was still looking at them.
-Do you think she will make it?...
-Honestly...?
-Yeah, honestly...
-I don't.
-Poor Elodie...
-Yeah...
-Would you want me to go look?
-Is that even a question?
-Thanks.
Then, (and thank God she did), Max went to hug Elodie.
-Hey, El, come here, I got you. - She said while hugging her in tears.
-Is... Ellora okay? - Elodie asked.
-Hmm, yeah... Well, kinda. She fainted in your arms and cracked a part of her skull in the floor.
-She- she started bleeding in my arms! Don't lie to me, she's sad because I am, right? LIKE, I KNOW! I PUSHED HER! I WOULD BE UPSET TOO!
-Yeah, we all are.
-My... Mom isn't going to make it.
-Please don't say that.
-Why did all this happen all of a sudden?!
-I'd like to know...
-I- I wouldn't.
-Ellora wanted me to come, we can see you through the door's window. She's still in there, being asked some questions.
-You could see me?
-Yeah, wanna see her?
-I- don't.
-Oh... Okay...
I was hearing the entire thing since she opened the window door, and I felt sad when Elodie said she didn't wanna see me, but It was understandable. If that was MY mom, I wouldn't move a toe either.
That scene was just so sad. I couldn't even think about my headhache anymore. They put me in a wheelchair, knowing I wanted to go see Elodie again, and that's what I did.
As they were watching her mom, I somehow managed to reach them, althought my entire body hurted, and when she saw I was near two meters apart Elodie jumped at me.
-I'm sorry, oh, God, I'm SO SORRY.
-No, don't be. I am.
-SHE'S NOT GONNA-
-Shhhh... - I said while hugging her, not letting her finish her sentence. - I'll be right back.
I asked the doctors what happened to her.
-One of her kidneys and part of her right lung have been destroyed. There's no hope, we're sorry.
-Oh, God...
-Do you... Know her?
-Yeah... Kinda... She's my bestfriend's mom.
-What about... The other child?
