Alex was running drills with her teammates on the field, her body moving with the graceful fluidity and power that had made her a star player.

She was sweating and panting, the summer heat and exertion making her thirsty. But despite that, she was feeling good. Her body was loose and limber, her mind focused and clear.

Her teammates were all giving it their all, pushing themselves to the limit in preparation for the upcoming games. They were a tight-knit group, the chemistry and trust between them evident in the way they moved together on the field.

During a break between drills, Alex and her teammates relaxed on the grass, laughing and joking around as they took a breather. The sun was beating down on them, the heat making the air shimmer and the grass dry and crunchy under their bare feet.

One of the other players started making inappropriate jokes, and before long the conversation had turned raunchy.

"You guys are terrible." Alex said, but she was grinning along with the rest of them. "Seriously, is your mind always in the gutter?"

"Hey, we're only human." Madison said. "We can't help it if our minds occasionally drift to the gutter."

"Hey Alex, I've got a question for you." Victoria called out, her voice cutting through the noise.

Alex looked up, curious. "Yeah? What's up?"

"Well, we were just discussing a little theory we have." Victoria said with a smirk. "And we were wondering, are you a top or a bottom?"

Alex raised an eyebrow, a little surprised by the question. "Are you guys really gossiping about my sex life right now?" she said, her voice incredulous.

"We had to settle this debate somehow." Victoria said with a shrug. "We couldn't agree on it, so we decided to go right to the source."

"Yeah, come on, you can tell us." Kelsey chimed in. "You're dating a woman, so we're curious. Are you more of a top or a bottom in your relationship?"

Alex rolled her eyes, but she couldn't help but chuckle. "You guys are relentless." she said, shaking her head. "But since you're so curious, fine, I'll satisfy your curiosity."

"I'm actually pretty versatile." she said, a hint of a smirk on her face. "Sometimes I'm a top, sometimes I'm a bottom. It just depends on my mood."

Her teammates exchanged glances, some looking surprised and some looking satisfied with the answers. "See, was that so hard?" Victoria said, grinning at Alex.

"You guys are insufferable, you know that?" Alex said, though there was a hint of amusement in her voice.

"Yeah, but you love us anyway." Victoria said, giving her a playful punch on the arm.

Alex walked into the flower shop, the soothing scent of roses and other flowers filling her nostrils. She took a deep breath, feeling a little overwhelmed by the array of colorful blossoms.

She walked over to the counter where a kind-looking woman was arranging a bouquet of daisies. "Excuse me. I'm looking for a large bouquet of red roses." she said.

The woman looked up and smiled at Alex. "Of course. How many are you looking for?"

"Thirty-six." Alex said, without hesitation. The woman raised an eyebrow, but didn't question her. "Sounds like someone is in the doghouse." she said, her voice teasing.

Alex chuckled. "No, actually, they're a surprise for my girlfriend. She's had a rough week and I want to do something nice for her."

The woman smiled. "That's very sweet. Let me get those roses for you." she said, disappearing into the back room to select the flowers.
