Hue #12

Mirn’s POV

“Brent Lewis Gabriel, I said no.” I warned my son as he kept on pushing my limits.

He was having tantrums and I clearly blamed my father for spoiling him.

“Mom, not my full name,” he crossed his arms. Kamukha-kamukha ang ama kapag nagpapa-cute. “Please, I want to support Dad!”

“I know you do.” “But what about your study? You have your class.”

It is just a preparatory class and not formal schooling yet but I still want him to finish that so he will be ready for next year. He wants to learn how to drive a car now.

“Mom, I am not going to be absent for the whole week. Maybe, Friday and Monday. Kahit race day lang ni daddy ang mapanood ko, please?” Pinagdaop niya ang palad habang may papikit-pikit ng mata. “I will do modules if possible!”

“Okay, but I need to talk to your Dad first—”

“We already talked. He told me that if you say yes then there is no problem,” he responded.

"Gabriel, interrupting someone before they are finished speaking is not what I taught you," I said calmly but firmly. Hindi niya dapat ako gayahin.

“I am sorry, Mom.” Yumuko siya. “I am just excited because I finally get to be with Dad! So, please, please!”

I sighed deeply. "I really want you to be with him, but I cannot accompany you to every Grand Prix. Mom's busy with the company. Your dad is also busy with the race, so he cannot be with you 24/7. What if something happened to you? Who would be there with you?”

"Granddad and Grandma volunteered if they are not busy. Then I also have Tito Nic."

"Tito Nic is busy with his hearing. He just happened to stop by before picking up your Tita Roz," I explained. "He's not always available, and the same goes for your Tita CL and Tito Chiro."

"What about our bodyguards? Yaya Miling can also go. She's not that old yet and can still travel," he insisted, refusing to back down. "Mom, please? Allow me to go if I find someone to be with me. If not, then I will stay at home."

"Okay, then," I said, staring at him.

"There are only six F1 races until December. Make me a schedule of those races with the names of the people you are going to be with. Of course, they need to say yes."

"It's easy, Mom," he grinned.

"Aha, really?"

"Yes!" He smiled at me. "But can you really not come with me? I mean, there are only two races scheduled in a month. At least one of them?" He blinked.

"I will try," I replied, not wanting to make any promises. "Okay, you can go to your room now and make that schedule."

"Can I borrow your phone? I will call Tito Nic, Tito Chiro, Tita CL, and many more..."

"Do you even know their numbers?"

"No," he said, laughing. "But I can ask Dad." He kissed my cheek before grabbing my phone from the side table. "Thank you, Mom! Love you!"
