"Where were you?"
"Up in Olympus with the other deities, spending time"
You lie to Achilles with ease, not wishing for him to know that you were with Cassandra.
"And why not spend time with me and Patroclus?"
Achilles expressed, unaware pretense of jealousy marbled over his voice.
Your lips curve into a smile, as you able to perceived his true feelings.
"I wished to spend time with the others that I consider my family"
Achilles huffed in irritation, clearly not satisfied with your answer.
He knew you were lying, but he couldn't prove it without sounding possessive and jealous.
"And what were you doing while spending time with your family?" he asked, a hint of sarcasm laced in his voice.
You shrugged nonchalantly, feigning ignorance.
"Oh, nothing in particular. Just the usual chit-chat, discussing the events happening in Troy, that's all"
Achilles scoffed, clearly not convinced with your response.
He knew you all too well.
"Really? That's it? Just conversation? Nothing else to report, huh?"
You raised an eyebrow, wondering where he was going with this.
The Greek hero stepped closer, his eyes narrowing as he studied you.
"I don't believe you," he stated bluntly.
"You're hiding something, I can tell."
You kept your composure, knowing that any sign of nervousness would give you away.
"I'm not hiding anything, Achilles," you said, a hint of amusement in your tone.
"You're just being paranoid."
Achilles let out a frustrated sigh, clearly growing more agitated.
Instead of speaking, Achilles takes a sniff of your scent.
"You are lying, this isn't the smell of Olympus, rather it's the smell of Troy"
It's insane what Achilles just did but it's also more creepy.
"How do you have a strong sense of smell, is that even impossible for a demigod?"
You ask, your curiosity shifting to something else.
"As you know, my mother, Thetis, is a sea goddess, I have inherited her strong sense of smell"
"I broke Cassandra's curse" You admit.
You expected Achilles to get angry that you helped the enemy but instead his jealousy becomes more evident.
"Did you sleep with her?"
"Oh no, Why would I do that?"
"I don't know, maybe because you aren't interested in men"
You roll you eyes at him, shaking your head in disbelief.
"Or maybe because I'm not interested in you, Achilles"
"No need to get so defensive," Achilles sneered, his expression a mix of irritation and pain. "Just asking a simple question."
"Well, ask a simple question and you'll get a simple answer," you replied, trying to keep your voice steady.
Achilles' expression darkened, his hands clenching into fists.
"You're the one being defensive, not me."
You sighed, wondering why he was so jealous.
"Why are you so upset about this? It's not like we're together."
When silence follows afterwards, you tilt your head and smile, realizing something.
Achilles is in love with you.
"Let me make a deal with you..."
You grab Achilles' chin with your thumb and index fingers.
"If you manage not to die in this war, I promise to think about future with you in it" you teasefully state.
"I want you to add another person"
You raise an eyebrow.
"And who might this person be?"
Achilles, doesn't give you the answer, but the voice of Patroclus does.
"Achilles, (Y/n), we have arrived to Lyrnessus"
Lyrnessus is where Briseis is, who just happens to become Achilles lover.
Maybe this will make Achilles less infatuated with you.
