"I could help you out if you beg me enough"
You glare at Ares, still in disbelief from the fact that you have returned back to being a human.
Now, you feel truly helpless.
"I don't need your help in anything, Ares"
You state, starting to walk away.
"A woman like you could never feel safe in battlefield"
"The only reason why no women would feel safe in a battlefield is because of you" you shout at him.
Ares's eyes narrowed at your accusation, his face turning a deep shade of red.
"l offer you help, and this is how you repay me?" His voice boomed, echoing through the empty, desolate battlefield.
You, being the one not to be intimidated, held your ground.
"Help from the god of war is like adding wood to the fire, Ares"
With this, you walk away, to go and find where Achilles is in fear that he might do something stupid.
🕊️🕊️🕊️
You slowly and secretly follow behind Achilles, making sure to not get killed.
However, when you see Hector from the far distance, right outside of Troy's gates, you realize what Achilles is going to do.
Achilles thinks that the older Trojan prince is the one who killed Patroclus.
You quickly catch up with the Greek hero, stopping him from committing murder.
"Don't kill him, Achilles, he's not the one who murdered Patroclus"
You try to correct his view about Hector, but Achilles doesn't believe you.
"Why are you defending him?"
"I'm not defending Hector, I'm telling you the truth"
"Then who killed Patroclus if not Hector?"
You bite your lip, knowing the truth would only make Achilles more furious.
"It was Ares, who killed Patroclus, not Hector, he did it to keep the war going" you finally manage to say.
Achilles' eyes narrowed, and he seemed to be contemplating his next words.
"Then why didn't you stop him, I thought you were the goddess of aid"
His clear accusation of you abandoning Patroclus broke your heart.
"I never thought Ares would murder Patroclus, I have followed you here to warn you of your fate, if you kill Hector, Paris will kill you by shooting an arrow at the heel of your leg"
You explain his fate to him because you are human, and you can't protect Achilles if he decides to go to his own death.
So, it is better to inform him of his fate even if it has consequences.
"How do you know that?"
You raise your eyebrows in disbelief at the question.
Achilles took a deep breath, his chest heaving with emotion.
"Very well, (Y/n) . I'll retreat to the camp and think about this, but what happened to Patroclus won't be gone unpunished"
You nodded, relieved that he had agreed to at least consider what you told him.
"Achilles I dare you to combat!"
You cuss in your head when you hear the voice of Hector coming from behind you.
Some of the soldiers from both sides stops to watch what will occur.
And Achilles being prideful, doesn't turn down Hector's thirst for battle.
"Achilles, no please, don't forget what I just told you"
"I need to do this, he challenged me to combat"
You shook your head, and force yourself to stop him...
... by hugging him.
Yes, it's uncomfortable and embarrassing for you to do such a thing.
"I need you here, Achilles, no that Patroclus is gone, I want you by my side" you say.
"This is why I must fight Hector, to protect you from any harm"
Greek heroes really lack logic when it comes to listening to prophecies.
Meanwhile, you don't notice Apollo watching you both from far away.
He came to help you when he didn't feel your divinity anymore, and unfortunately saw you hugging Achilles.
Yes, he did make you a promise not to kill anyone for the sake of his love for you.
But what if he had someone else do it for him instead.
The god of music eyes travel through battlefield until it lands on a certain trojan prince.
Paris is the perfect tool for this job.
