We stay silent for a while.

I look back and forth between the three of them, not really knowing what to say. Sarah seems to be trying hard to break the awkwardness haunting the air around us, since Alex and Amelia were both guilty for not being any help to their Alpha.

"You are blocking the fucking doorway, idiots." Our savior Leah sneers from behind them, her usual rudeness aside.

"You should just stay out there." Alex retorts in a funny way, not even trying to hide his relief.

"Whatever. Brat." Leah talks more to herself as she makes her way towards kitchen, me on her tail.

"Hey, Esmeray, my cake." Leah reminds me making herself at home on the kitchen island.

"WHAT?!!! You made the cake for Leah." Amelia screeches in her cat like voice from inside as I hear them approaching.

"STOP shouting in my EARS, YOU DUMB FUCKING MONKEY!!!" Alex cries back.

"Shut up brat. You never get bored of getting on my nerves. YOU DUMB FUCKING MALE MONKEY." Amelia retorts.

"Wow, you guys are back at it. Well, male and female monkey do make a great pair." Sarah comments. I liked how she never fails to add a comment of pairing them on their little banters.

"SHUT UP!" both of them shout in unison almost making me loose balance messing up the cake- now in my hands.

"Stupidity at its peak." Leah mutters under her breath.

We burst out laughing at their childishness.

Even after everyone left there was no sign of my mate for an hour. As I was dozing off in the living room trying to read a book, I thought was interesting, I hear the front door clicking. The scent of honey makes its way to my nose. I take a huge sniff as my mate comes into view.

"Get ready." He orders.
"Are we going somewhere?" I think out loud while attempting to grab my coat.

He just hums in response.

"Is it a date?" I question in a funny way making googly eyes.

"Yeah, a date to your old apartment, to bring your stuffs back, so that you wouldn't end up dumb with no education. You are so dumb already, it's scary." He replies followed by his chuckles.

God, he looked manly and handsome. Shut it Esmeray, he is making fun of you, now that I think about it, it is seriously scary, how dumb I am. Anna once told me, if a thief came around barging into my house, I would willing invite him and prepare a meal for him. When I told my other friends about it, Sarah added that I would even offer to listen to his depressing past. "You would start weeping over how horrible his childhood was." Alex had remarked.

But I become a little upset at Blade's reply.  Our first date would be to that crappy apartment. Sigh. And he never seizes to amuse me with his way of words. I raise my hand and slowly boop him in the nose.

"Rude" I comment in a pouty way.

His expression suddenly changes, and I knew had caught him off- guard as his face flushed.

I turn around a to hide the blush that had found its way to my cheeks and start heading outside not before grabbing my coat with a smile tugging at my lips.

I am welcomed with a creaking of the wooden floor in my apartment. I suddenly feel self-conscious as this was the first time he is visiting an apartment I am supposed to call home. The apartment looked untouched of course ever since I last left. I usually came off as a careless person, I was really elated when I met Sarah because she made me feel better. When it came to being responsible, I was way better than her. I had wanted to come back here before, but my mate was against it. I don't really know the reason.

"Collect only important stuffs, clothes and necessities- you can skip. We can buy them later." Blade's voice brings me back to earth.

"Don't you think you are spoiling me a bit too much. You have already bought me enough clothes in these few days." I say thinking about all the clothes and supplies Alex had brought to my mate's place on his orders it seems.

"They are not even close to what you deserve." He delivers huskily and that is when I realize how close he had moved.

"Um... I- I will p- pack up, my-my books." I say hurriedly trying to avoid his eyes and moving away.

I collect some things that were needed for my school and things that held meaning like that one scarf my mom had knitted and the bracelet Anna and Tyler had given me on that one birthday. And some books that held significance in my life.

As I finish up successfully putting everything in a single travel bag, I feel a chill pass down my spine. It was because of the presence I felt right outside the apartment door. The memory of the presence wasn't something good. It's not my opinion alone. That is how it's all around the world. Because they were usually the nightmare, even for the supernatural beings. The only ones whose mere presence could threaten our lives. I seize all of my movements, afraid even to breathe as the memories come crashing down. The memories of my mother's death, the memories of how one of them walks in, I shiver when I feel strong arms grip me from behind.

"Everything's alright sweetheart." Blade coos in my ears as he draws soothing circle on my bare shoulder with his thumb. That calms me down more than I had thought it could.

"The- they a- ar- are he-here" I helplessly stutter turning around to face him.

"THE GRIM REAPERS." He completes.

I am well known for being procrastinator enough. I need some motivation. Seriously. Well have fun learning more about Esmeray.
Honestly you know so much about Esmeray, you start to wonder what Blade's hiding.
