I walked into the kitchen as the sound of my mate speaking continuously reached my ears. Sarah was getting an earful from Balde as he continued to chop the veggies while nagging. He looked like an overstressed mom taking care of her kids with the apron on. He was totally in sync with his 'big brother mode.' He would turn around every now and then waving the knife or a spatula in the air trying to get Sarah's attention.
I took my seat next to Sarah. Alex and Lia were busy playing on their phones, occupying the chairs on the other side of Sarah.
"I have been getting complains about your carelessness, you have been too ignorant about your assignments, I mean what is it that holds you back from completing your assignments on the due date? You are always wasting your time sprawled across the couch or floor or bed, like doing nothing. I mean NOTHING. How do you even live your life? Don't you feel bored...?" My mate goes on while Sarah stares at the tea laying in front of as if it was the most interesting thing in the world. I couldn't get enough of this scenario.
Sarah never seemed to be fazed by anyone talking about her laziness. But Blade's words seemed to be getting to her for the good.
"You know what? You are grounded for a weak." Blade announces.
Sarah didn't seem to mind as long as she had her Netflix and eBooks. This is the worst punishment the 'Rogue King' came up with. But what makes me think twice about my conclusion is Sarah's reaction. Her face turned to that of horror. She literally went pale.
"Nooo, you wouldn't." Sarah stutters as if she had seen a ghost or had the worst nightmare.
"Finally, Sarah might come on time for the training in the mornings." Alex comments smirking.
"Please brother don't do that." Sarah pleads.
I was confused at the turn of events.
"'Grounding' for Sarah is when her Netflix, books, eBooks and art mediums are off limits." Lia fills me in with an amused expression, she air quotes the word 'grounded'.
"Yet there's been a time when she spent her whole day hibernating in her room and one more rule was added that day forth that she loses her access to her own room." Alex muses. He surely was enjoying this.
"Okay, what will make you change your mind?" Determination flashes in Sarah's eyes.
"As long as you submit your assignments, you are free." Blade declares.
Without a moment's thought Sarah dashes out of the door like her life depended on it. It was funny watching someone who couldn't care less about dropping her grades by not meeting the deadline was now rushing to finish her assignments. I let out a small chuckle as I watch her determined. Judging by her lack of interest until now, I was sure she had a load of stuffs to get done with.
Alex and Lia place the phones aside as my mate serves the food as they start sharing the events of past whenever Sarah, Alex and Lia were caught doing some stupid stuffs. Did I mention that Sarah loved pulling pranks.
****
It's been two days since our first kiss. We have started sleeping together but kissing was the limit of what we had. The mate pull of course got us good but we knew better to control. We both had something holding us back for us to forward our relationship.
That said, I have tried my mate's food twice and they couldn't be better. They tasted like heaven. His ingredients were perfect. As for my cooking, seemed like Sarah was better than me at that. I could say.
Blade seemed too busy lately. I knew that something wasn't right with the pack. Something serious was haunting the pack. I had finally decided to confront him about the problem.
After everyone left, Blade went into the office. I shortly followed him. As I was nearing the office, that was his home office, I heard muffled voices, since no one was around he must have been on phone.
I walked in without knocking as usual. He was still on the phone when he indicated me to sit.
"It's as you say Alpha Morgan. The incidents have been occurring too frequently to be done by different people. Yes, we should turn to the 'Celestial Guardians'." He states with a serious look.
I gasp.
The Celestial Guardians were directly under the order of The Fivefold Dominion. It was formed by the five rulers of the world to uphold the world's balance.
That being said the five dominions were made up of- Vampiria - The Blood Realm, Lycanthra - The Wildlands, Infernia - The Hellscape, Mystara - The Arcane Enclave, Humania - The Enchanted Kingdom.
Well, the terms were old and hard to use which we simply used as Vampire Kingdom, Werewolf Kingdom, Demon Kingdom, Wizard Kingdom and the Humania was still Humania because they were humans with magic and not the normal ones. They however held the responsibility to see through any supernatural problem that occur in human world.
The captain of the Celestial Guard Organization was none other than the Archmage Thorne Emberheart. He was only called for in desperate situations and to meet him you would need the permission from the Fivefold Domain.
What the heck happened? If this was so fucking serious, why the hell didn't he tell anyone? This guy.... is despicable.
But he did not seem even a little bit worried to somehow.
