WHERE WE STAYING.

1777, JULY 16th, SATURDAY 10:00am.

Noche's head swiveled from side to side as she took in the chaotic sights. Some kids jumped into the air and by the time they fell back down they were wearing rollerblades, using skateboards, or scooters. Just created it midair like it was an everyday activity; it probably was.

All along the street were a handful of vendors. There were fresh fruit stalls, a hot dog stand, and an old antique booth with an elderly woman showing off old coins. A kid ran past a stand, grabbed a loaf of bread, and escaped as a man shouted at him. Another place was selling watches, sunglasses, and even DVDs.

There was a wide variety of knick-knacks for sale all across the place. The group stopped walking and Noche went over to a random stall to buy a glass of lemonade. She came back to Mary and Alice taking another photo together.

"You guys do that every day?" Noche asked.

"Yeah bruh, it's our daily photo," Mary said.

"Oh yeah – forgot about that."

"S-So, where are we going now?" Tak asked.

"I-I don't know," Venny grinned.

Tak gave her a hurt look.

"Sorry, sorry. Que era una broma. A joke amigo," she said. "I was only paid to bring you here. You're free to go wherever now."

"Not to worry amigos!" Shaylin shouted. "I know the perfect place! Follow meeeeeee!"

The ginger skipped down the street and with a collective shrug the gang followed behind.

"Where are we going?" Noche asked.

"It's a secret. All I will say is he's an old friend and business partner."

"Mind if we tag along, estoy aburrido," Venny said.

"Sure! The more the merrier."

Noche stared a Venny for a moment, before turning her gaze to Boots.

"You know, I—"

"—No. You don't get to casually talk to me," he interrupted. "We are no longer friends. That relationship died the moment Spark did too. Despite my better judgment, I am willing to work together to kill Edward, but that's it. I have no intentions of rekindling what we once had. Move on."

Boots didn't give her a chance to respond, he sped up his pace and walked past her. The blonde stood still with her mouth agape for just a moment. She closed it as a cold dread made its way into her limbs. Noche shook the feeling off – she couldn't allow herself to feel regret. It would only slow her down.

"Am I a bad person?" Noche paused. "That's stupid – of course I am. A good person wouldn't be willing to do the things I've done."

There was a brief instance where the smallest part of her thought she could change. That she didn't have to be that person any longer. It was snuffed out by the knowledge that she had to be willing to do anything to stop Edward and Creeps.

The blonde let out a long, heavy sigh. It was interrupted by a baseball bat shattering against the back of her head; Noche staggered forward. She wasn't hurt, but she was certainly surprised, and by the time she had turned the person who had done it had already fled down an ally. She decided to not waste time with a pursuit.
