THE GILMORE HOUSE felt like war zone since Rory slept with Dean and when Betty found out that it wasn't one time thing she was more mad then before.Lorelai was disappointed but not as much as her other daughter,she was focused on the kiss that she shared with Luke.It felt like this summer was falling apart,her grandparents were separated.When Emily asked girls to come with her to Europe,Rory went without thinking but Betty to her surprise said no.She was not willing spend time with her sister, not this time.

Betty sat on porch,her worn sandals tapping against the wooden floorboards as she watched the quiet street below.She had her hair pulled back in a loose ponytail, the humidity already turning the ends into a frizzy halo around her face.The phone in her pocket buzzed to life, startling her. She pulled it out and stared at the screen for a moment before recognizing the international number.It was her sister,Rory, calling from Europe."Hello"she said tentatively, her voice cracking with the weight of unspoken words.
"It's me"Rory's voice came the reply,the static of the long-distance call adding a layer of distance to an already strained relationship.
Betty took a deep breath, bracing herself for the worst."What's up?"she asked, trying to keep her tone neutral.
"Bad time ?Are you with Conrad?"Rory began, her voice rushing through the line like a river of unspoken regret
"No,he is in Spain with his dad"Betty sighed. "How are you doing ?"
"I am fine,you ?"She asked."How was your summer?"
"Good,I was helping in Dragon fly"With nervousness,she fiddled with her sweater."You know just wondering around town"
"I was at the corner of Bark and Cheese today" Rory took a seat at the couch's edge.Betty chuckled and sat up straight "Bark and Cheese really ?"
"And it's exactly the same"Her sister said,her voice filled with excitement
"Was there little Italian dog in basket"Betty leaned against the porch railing,the wood wet and slick beneath her palms."Barking the whole time you were there?"
"Not this time but I definitely had flashback" Walking around the apartment in Italy,Rory swallowed nervously."Betty?"
Beth sighed."Yeah ?"
"I am sorry" Rory said,cutting straight to the point.Her tone was urgent,yet filled with a vulnerability. "I screwed up,I screwed up really bad"
"Yeah,you did"Elizabeth chuckled.
"I handled everything wrong"Her sister took a deep,shaky breath before speaking."I just wanna fix it"
Betty felt a pang of annoyance.Dean was Rory's latest mistake and god she hated the boy."I don't know,if is there any possible way to fix it"
