IT WAS  few weeks since The three Gilmore girls lived by their own. Betty couldn't admit it but she missed her mom and sister but she missed Conrad even more. She barely saw him ,she never was alone Colin and Finn kept her occupied but it wasn't same as with Conrad.

"Betts," Luke said, his voice filled with warmth as he wrapped his arms around her. The simple act of his embrace seemed to chase away the shadows that had been lingering in the corners of the room.

"Alright, cowboy, don't be sentimental," Betty said with a laugh, gently pushing him away.

Luke's eyes searched hers, the corners crinkling with a smile that never quite reached his lips. "Did you talk with your mom?"

Betty rolled her eyes and said, "We all kinda need this break." She knew that bringing up her family would lead to more questions, but she needed to keep the conversation light.

"But where are you staying?" Luke pressed, his concern genuine.

Betty sighed. "With Wren, my boyfriend. I figured out that me and Conrad could use some break to, you know, sort through things."

Luke's smile grew taut, his eyes flicking away for a moment. "Oh, right. Wren." He paused, then looked back at her with a forced brightness. "He's a good guy, right? Takes care of you?"

Betty nodded. "Pretty much." The words felt heavy on her tongue, a hint of doubt echoing in the silence that followed.

Luke's gaze remained on her, searching for something she wasn't quite ready to give. "And what about Logan?" he asked, the name slipping out like a whispered secret.

Betty's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh, Logan," she said, her voice lighter than she had intended. "He's okay, I guess." She paused, biting her lip. "Why don't you ask Rory?"

Just as she finished speaking, the door to the dinner swung open with a dramatic flourish, and in walked Tristan. "Waiting for me?" he quipped, a smug grin spreading across his face as he surveyed the room.

Betty's cheeks flushed, and she could feel the weight of Luke's gaze on her. "Yeah, let's go sit over there," she said, her voice a little too loud. She gestured to the table in the back, hoping to escape the awkwardness of the moment.

"Sure," Luke said, his eyes never leaving hers for a beat too long. He took a step back, giving her a small nod. "You know where to find me if you need anything."

Tristan sauntered over, his arm sliding around her waist as if it belonged there. "I am glad you called," he said, his voice a smooth caress that made her skin crawl.

Betty managed a weak smile. "I' cannot thank you enough for helping me" she said, trying to ignore the feeling that she was lying to herself.

"It's no trouble at all," Tristan said, his arm tightening around her. "But yes, Luke does seem rather... attentive."
