THE TIME went by swiftly, and Logan appeared to make every effort to be near Betty. However, this wasn't the most annoying thing that had happened in weeks; Christopher had returned and it seemed to be he will stay around for while. Her mom's voice floated through the phone line, a soft melody in the quiet afternoon. "Betty,my sweet child," she began, her tone warm and inviting. "What are my daughters doing ?"

"I might be surprising you,but I'm actually studying right now," Betty replied with a smirk, her eyes flicking over the textbook spread out on the kitchen table. "And your other daughter is in bar"

Lorelai's chuckle echoed through the speaker. "Is this ome kind of new version of Freaky Friday ?" she mused, a hint of laughter in her voice.

Betty said, her voice a mix of amusement and affection. "I've got this dress to tackle."

Her mother's chuckle grew louder. "And Rory is in bar?" she asked, her words tumbling out in a playful tease.

Betty rolled her eyes, feeling a twinge of jealousy that she quickly masked with a casual tone. "Yeah, she's working on her article with Logan."

Lorelai's interest peaked, the line going silent for a moment before she spoke again. "Logan, you say? Is that the boy from the last Friday?"

Betty sighed, her needle pausing mid-stitch. "You know about Logan ?"

Her mom's tone turned sly. "Rory told me," she said, dragging out the words like a secret being pulled from a reluctant confidant. "She said you two are...how to say it.."

Betty scoffed, her eyes narrowing slightly. "That I despise the man?"she provided, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Or that his self-confidence is so thick it's practically a force field, and I could go on forever about how horribly annoying he is?"

Lorelai's laugh grew into a full-blown chuckle, bubbling up from the phone and filling the room. "No, no, darling," she said, waving away Betty's protests with a digitized giggle. "Rory said that you two are quite... familiar."

Betty rolled her eyes again, the action now a comforting rhythm to the conversation. "Oh god, no," she said, the words slipping out before she could catch them. "I hate that man."

The door to the kitchen creaked open, and Conrad, poked his head in. "Betty?" he called out, his eyes scanning the room with curiosity.

"In here," she called back, her voice tight. She had to end this conversation before her mother started delving into the details she wasn't ready to share. "Look, Mom, I've got to go. I've got a ton of work to do."

Her mother's chuckle turned into a knowing smile that Betty could almost feel through the phone. "Ah, I remember those days," she said with a sigh. "Fine, but Betty, I'll be seeing you on Friday.Don't forget."
