(OK! So, this chapter will show some stuff that would be confusing if I didn't inform you guys beforehand. I know I would've gotten confused if I was reading this chapter knowing it's about Kai and Kate... Have fun😻)

Home Game
Our practice just got done, I can't believe we had run suicides just now. Everyone was exhausted. lying on the gym floor, almost everyone was fighting the urge to throw up and take their shirts off.
"Ok ladies, get some rest, head over here around 6 pm so we can warm up before the game around 8," Coach Geno then walked out of the gym after we all somehow said goodbye to him and to the rest of the staff and trainers that were in here too.
"I'm gonna die," KK blurts out as some of us agree, and some of us just laugh at the freshman. "I can't breathe properly, my feet hurt, and I need a shower," Nika says as she's quite literally crawling around. Don't ask me cause I have no idea why.
"we need to leave soon, you guys. The Iowa girls are gonna practice a bit," I say as some of us finally get up and help the ones who are still dying.
"Hey, Cam, can you stay back with me and shoot around before Iowa shows up?" I hear Paige ask after everyone gathers their stuff and heads out of the gym to go to our locker room. "Yeah, let me rest for a sec," I say as I sit down next to her.
"You good?" I hear ask as she stands up, grunting. "Yeah, Geno hardly makes us run that much so I'm not used to it," I say as I rest my head in my hands that were on top of my knees. "We don't have to stay back. We can head to the dorms if you're too tired, Cam."
I shake my head as I reach for my water bottle, "I'm fine Paige, I just needed to catch my breath," I say after I get a few sips of water. "Cam, if you're tired, then you need to rest. Remember the last time you pushed yourself too much?" I look up at Paige, who looked at me with so much worry.
"I'm fine, Paige. I've been doing fine," I said as I gave her a smile and walked past her, grabbing a ball and dribbling it a bit as I waited for her.
A few minutes passed, and we were on the verge of tears, happy tears. "CAM, WHYYYY??" The blonde asks as she's lying on the floor, laughing, "HAH! YOU CAN'T GUARD ME HOE," I say after I fall on my knees, dying of laughter as well. The past 20 minutes or so have been just the two of us goofing around, something Paige and I hardly ever do when we're practicing. We thought that we needed to let loose and have fun.
"Oh my God, Cam," the blonde says after she quits laughing, "that was crazy, we should've been taking this serious P," I say after I lay down right next to her. We spend a few moments just closing our eyes, laying next to each other, soaking in the peaceful silence that you would normally find quite common between me and Paige. We loved being loud at times, but deep down, we knew that we didn't have to say anything or do anything to be comfortable around each other.
"What we're doing is good for us, Cam, have fun, be a kid, act like KK for once," I laughed at the mention of the freshman. "I guess being a kid isn't THAT bad," I let out a small laugh when I emphasized the word that. I stand up to grab the ball and signal Paige to stand up.
"You're offense?" She asks, I shake my head, "defense, let's see how good you can pass by me, P," I say with a smirk. "You're on."
After about 4 minutes of us goofing around, it ended with me stealing the ball from her, and since we were only using half of the court, I turned around, getting ready to shoot for a 3, until Paige completely wrapped her arms around me, reaching for the ball from behind me.
"PAIGE YOU CHEATER, GET OFF!" I scream as we both kept hold of the ball, neither of us letting go. "LET GO THEN!" She says as the gym becomes silent after we hear the doors slam close and hearing a bunch of footsteps.
