The makeshift Barnes residency located in the accommodation square of CERN, Ms Dekker had decided that it would be a good(ish) idea for the rest of Friday’s family to meet her, whilst she secretly wanted to plot the demise of Dr Barnes (the laureate one). Friday wasn’t pleased to put it in laymen’s terms, but she understood where Ms Dekker was coming from, any normal family would want to see their youngest relative after no contact for like 3 years, but the Barnes family wasn’t normal.

Instead of family movie nights or trips to Disney world, they exchanged research papers and critiqued them in silence, that was their idea of a fun family gathering. When the other half arrived (Rupert, Orion and Quasar, along with her son and partner), they were surprised to see that the apartment was…clean, none of them ever bothered to clean up their messes themselves. The dining table, had an actual table cloth which extended well over the edge. The food placed on the table would give Dr Barnes and Dr Barnes (parents) reason to believe they had solved string theory as being in an alternative dimension would be the only logical reason for such as change. The spread of the dining table consisted of pizza, paper utensils and plates, with a plate full of chocolate cupcakes, an assortment of soft drinks and even a salad. Now this would’ve been considered a sort of rushed attempt at a normal family dinner, which it was, but this was like a 3 course meal for the Barnes household.

When the shock had finally settled, Ms Dekker greeted them, with a sadistic glint in her eyes which could be the reason why she was notoriously the best lawyer CERN has ever had. She then guided them to the living room, which was also clean and thus a shock. The little boy started fussing, causing him to hug his father’s leg, begging for attention. His father responded by picking him up and placing him on his lap, which seemed to satisfy the child. for 12 seconds before fussing again. Quasar and the man started to sigh, knowing what a handful their son could be. Then suddenly, he let go of his mother’s dishevelled bun and was silent, and so were the rest of the household. Quantum and Halley made their way to the living room with Brad on their heels, to not only greet the family members but to also see what had caused the boy to go silent.

When they turned their heads towards the direction which the young boy was fixated on, they saw a trio of young teenagers, 2 boys and a girl talking in the corner. The closer girl had skin like rich hot dark chocolate, she was thin and tall but her posture exuded calmness and elegance, she had this sort of look one has as if they witnessed a golden retriever puppyThe boy was tall, easily over 6 ft and he looked at if he had come back from departure from the local military. With his buzz cut hair, scar above his left eyebrow, wearing a simple outfit consisting of cargo pants and black long sleeve shirt which was tucked into his waistband. He had his arms wrapped around the other girl’s waist, hugging her from behind. Her hair looked as it was blessed by the moon herself, she was on the shorter side but she seemed so full of life, with her closed eyes and her laughter, she just seemed so content.

The young boy was intrigued by this group of teenagers and the young moon kissed girl in particular. He jumped from his father’s lap and made his way to the strangers. The three hadn’t noticed him yet until he went over and hugged the moon girl. The conversation apparently evaporated from existence. The boy and the hot chocolate girl glanced at each other, resulting in the boy to tighten his hold on the moon girl and the other girl reaching out and holding the moon girl’s hand. The little boy didn’t know who they were, but they knew who he was.
