for all who voted for this story, THANK YOU! I honestly loved the plot for this one and I hope those reading this will enjoy it as well.

This is set in book 9, around the time where Friday solves the plumbing issue at Tatianna’s house and the train incident .

*Warning: this story is heavily based on Friday’s mental state (as I believe Spratt didn’t touch on it much in this arc), so it might be a little distressing for some people.

Anyways Enjoy! Please vote and leave MANY comments

No one’s pov~

It's been a week in the beautiful city of Florence, and it’s official, neither Friday nor Melanie are sick of Gelato just yet. After proving the innocence of the Sisters of the Convent, Friday was rewarded with the 3 vats of raspberry gelato, which she and Melanie had already eaten 1 of, in the name of loyalty and its supposed ‘health benefits’.

For a Monday, it was surprisingly peaceful, at least for Friday. The temperature wasn’t too hot, nor too cold, it wasn’t windy but it was more than just a gentle breeze. It was…nice, that’s right, the girl with a built in thesaurus could only describe the day as nice.

After being locked up for 11 months, Friday took any opportunity to sit outside, that early afternoon it was under the peach tree outside her and Melanie’s room at the convent, whether to enjoy the afternoon sun, or the evening rain, her health be damned, she had raspberry gelato after all. You’d assume that Melanie would be with her, but in fact she was on a date with Pietro, if you count getting him bail a date.

Friday had a date with the morning newspaper, and the punchline ‘police successfully raid mafia stronghold at the edge of the city’ and in the corner was an image of police coming out of a building with a slanted roof, right next to the water.

Friday didn’t mind being alone, she was used to it, but she wanted to be alone with Melanie. If you would’ve told Friday’s 10 year old self that she would’ve made a friend around her age, and KEPT the friendship, she would’ve honestly believed you were a bully from the future instead of her actually having a friend.

It wasn’t like she couldn’t survive on her own, she’d just rather genuinely live with someone like Melanie, who unlike her parents, continues to support and love her. The 11 months in juvie and the week in Florence, definitely changed her perspective on the whole detective persona she once accustomed to portray. Having been in dangerous situations:getting kidnapped by a convict, almost getting killed on two separate occasions or just the number of head injuries she incurred.

Then there was the night of her arrest.

Flashback~

She and Melanie had a tiring day at highcrest, because McClean wanted to have a redo of his ‘genius’ orienteering assignment. Friday was paired with Trea, and Melanie was paired with Mirabella, so not only did they have to get through the swamp, they had to get through the two vainest girls in their year. Friday wasn’t sure what died first, their legs or their brains. So after that torture, with the last of their will, both the girls went straight to bed. And it was bliss for up to 5 hours. ~ End of flashback

As the flashback ended its montage in her brain, a common recurrence since her release. Friday’s heart began to beat faster and faster, as if it wanted to escape her chest. She tried the breathing exercises that have been scientifically proven to be effective for these types of panic attacks, but the more she slowed down, the faster her heart was beating. She tried once more but the attacks kept on increasing. Even though she was outside, she felt constricted, she needed to get out, but how can you do that if you are already outside. Now she was covered in sweat, and her breathing started to become shallow. She had to do something but what?
