Ian’s pov

Tomorrow was the day, the day I will ask Friday to officially be my girlfriend. And what better way to do it than on Valentine’s day, in Sweden, the country of chocolates.

I would’ve done it after the dessert hunt, but I didn’t want to overwhelm her. My girl is strong, but even the strongest of glass can easily shatter. Being here in Sweden, with her family: Quantum being a lovesick puppy, Halley being in jail, her mother being in the hospital, and then there was my little episode with amnesia.

I have been in many dangerous situations, albeit only if it involves her, but having amnesia was one of the scariest. But I mean I got to fall in love with her with all my heart, unreserved, so I guess it wasn’t so bad. Just thinking that if that had lasted, what would’ve happened with us. Knowing her, she would’ve let me go, because if she had stuck around it would only do me harm. That’s my girl alright, she always thinks of others before she even considers herself.

The dessert hunt, she made sure everyone had a slice before she did.

When we made her gift, she was out there getting me a watch because of some stupid shit my father had done and I took it out on her, how stupid of me.

My Friday may not be anyone’s version of a normal person, however she is perfection personified. She has the brains, brawn and beauty, a true triple threat. I mean, if the world stops spinning whenever she enters the room and you can’t help but be drawn to her. 

I love her, and I know she cares for me, but to ease the obvious ticking in her that I am still me, I will officially ask her to be my girlfriend, so there will be no doubt that she is indeed mine and I am solely hers. I will be her moon and she’ll be my sun, without her light I have no purpose and I will be her stability.

It's a cliche on Valentine's day to ask her out officially, however I had to choose a day that she could already associate with romance, making the connection easier. Just hope that she doesn’t take the literally Sain Valentine martyrdom thing in the wrong direction.

So we have a date, check, next on the list is the what and where.

Since it’ll be Valentine’s day, everything is booked out, restaurants, event venues, everything. But this will actually play to my advantage, because my girl has a problem with money aka she is a cheap skate, you spend too much, she’ll feel guilty.

She’s my sun, my Astrella, which could not be a more perfect name for her. She shines no matter what time of day or night. Which leads me to the IAXO, the world’s most advanced observatory, and we will have a picnic, at least that was the original plan. When I told Melanie, she said that it would probably remind her of the ‘date’ I had with Tatiana. So scrap that idea.

Instead I will take her to Chillon, the castle on the water. Because as much as she hates to admit it, she had the best time with Ingrid in her palace and she secretly likes getting the princess treatment. Being the right kind of centre of attention, being doted on, so there’s the what.

I’m treating my girl like royalty, it helps that she looks like a princess too.

So now all I had to do was ask her and we’ll be set. Then I can give her the true gift, the one I wanted to give her all the way back in Italy. As I looked down to the velvette box in my hand. No it wasn’t a ring, that’ll come in due time. In this box is a necklace with a dual magnifying glass pendant. On one side there was an actual magnifying glass, the other side was black.
