WILLIAM AND ORION sat in front of each other in the living room. Even though William's fluffy couches surrounded them, Orion insisted on kneeling on the floor. William didn't want to make their conversation awkward– so he joined him.

"Are you sure you don't want to sit on the couch?"

Orion's blond hair swayed as he shook his head. "No thanks! I like it better down here."

William chuckled to himself in disbelief. Orion had insisted on sitting on the floor because he was fascinated with the texture of his carpet, which shouldn't have been as amusing to William as it was. William permitted this after considering the fact that Orion spent most of his time as a star in the sky. To him, Orion's newfound fascination made sense.

William sat cross-legged. "For the first phase of my plan to work, you have to look like you're in love with me. You can do that, right?"

"Oh, that won't be hard at all."

"Really? I thought you didn't spend much time on earth?" William paused before he quickly corrected himself, "I mean, are the ways that stars show affection different than how a human on Earth would do it?"

Orion's gaze drifted away from William's. There was a clear difference between how much he understood William, and how much William understood him. "Well, we can't do much but telepathically speak to each other, but I think I've witnessed enough love from my position in the sky to know how it works."

"Like what?" William couldn't remember ever being affectionate with Christian outside his own home. There was a possibility that Orion could be bluffing. "Could you give me an example?"

Orion's gaze travelled back to William. He reached out his hand and brushed William's curly hair out of his eyes. His hand slipped downwards, towards William's lips, and he shifted towards him without hesitance.

William's eyes were locked on Orion's sudden and intense gaze. It was like Orion's eyes were looking through him–assessing him in a way that told William that Orion knew exactly who he was. Aside from this, Orion's hands were warm, and William wasn't sure if it was Orion's body heat, or his own body heating up that was causing the room to feel twice the temperature it previously was.

Orion's thumb slid below William's bottom lip and brushed down his arm before intertwining their hands. He leaned towards William's ear and whispered. "Was that good enough for you?"

As Orion's breath fanned William's ear, he suddenly forgot how to speak.

At the lack of William's response, Orion leaned away from him and shot him the same warm smile he had been displaying since they had met. "See!" Orion grinned, "I told you, I know enough!"

William blinked to regain his focus. "Yeah, I don't think you need me to teach you anything."

As William sat in front of Orion, pangs of hunger rumbled throughout his stomach. Although it was important for him to use his wishes, for William, a hungry stomach always came before a man. William smiled at Orion and stood up as he used a waving motion with his arm to coax Orion to follow him. The man dragged Orion with him to the kitchen and insisted that they make pasta with the materials he had in his house.

"Uhm..I don't really know how to do that." Orion said as pink dusted his cheeks.

William blinked. "What?"

"I don't have to eat 'cause you know... So.. I've never eaten or made food."

William blinked again. "Wait, none of the people you've met have fed you?"

"Uhm, they usually just get me to complete their wishes," Orion mumbled. "I've actually never been around for this long. "

William tilted his head. Orion had never been on Earth for longer than two days at a time? For someone as lively and polite as Orion, he deserved to experience at least some hospitality during his time on Earth.

"Well, they're rude. The least they could have done was offer you a meal."

"I guess."

William leaned against the countertop with a wide smile. "I guess we'll just have to make you your first meal then, huh?"

Orion's smile grew a little wider than it was before.

⭑ ⭑ ⭑ ⭑

William had never thought about how much work it would take to get Orion to eat his food. He had forgotten that Orion wasn't familiar with utensils, and getting him to use the right ones proved to be difficult.

"Orion, you can't use a spoon to eat pasta."

Orion huffed as he put his spoon down on the table and crossed his arms. "Says who?"

"Says... " William started, "..well nobody, but it won't work. I know that you won't be able to pick up the pasta with a spoon."

Orion crossed his arms and sunk back in his chair as he stared at William apprehensively. William scoffed at Orion's hesitance to use a fork, the sharp and pointy ends of it seeming to be threatening to Orion. He slid out from his chair and grabbed a fork from the kitchen before he shoved it into Orion's plate of pasta.

Orion jerked backwards. "Why did you just stab it?"

"You need to stab the pasta to eat the pasta, Orion. " William said amusedly.

Orion's eyebrows scrunched together as he stared at his plate of pasta with a fork sticking out of it.

He frowned. "Yeah, I don't think I like that."

William rolled his eyes as he picked up his own fork. He glanced at Orion to check if he was watching, and when he saw that he was, he twirled his pasta around on his fork and put it in his mouth.

As William chewed, Orion tried to replicate his movements. Although the pasta slipped off his fork numerous times, he eventually succeeded. As Orion had his first taste of food, his eyes widened and he audibly groaned.

"Okay buddy, it's not that good."

Orion shook his head. "Yeah, it is! It's super sweet!"

William's head tilted in confusion. Sweet wasn't the right word for his pasta bolognese sauce. He figured that Orion must have been mixing up flavours. "I'll feed you something sweeter another day."

"Okay!" Orion agreed eagerly as he continued to shove pasta in his mouth.

William set his fork down, and absent-mindedly smiled at Orion's joy. Although he missed Christian, he enjoyed having someone else around. Orion being the human form of a star made so much sense to him. He was truly burning with joy and light.
