LuNortha (Book 1 of LuNortha trilogy)

Prologue: Ten years ago

For every step she took, you could hear her heels echoing along the long corridor. The walls were all black, depressing but still gave you the feeling of danger, the corridor was long with chandeliers of gold itself. Chandeliers that clearly show how much this kingdom that did not exist 80 years ago has for wealth. Northa the kingdom that everybody has started to fear. ' But not her. The kingdom was nothing compared to Luna. She could take everything without even making a big effort.' After a while she sees a pair of black and gold glass doors that are so thick, she cannot see through them.

Like every month there is a meeting between her and the other rulers of the kingdoms that exist. But this time was different, she could feel it in the air. The tension that came the moment she saw the letter for this urgent meeting. With a deep breath she opens the glass doors and steps inside the room. Without even looking at the three men she goes to the table and sits down and then starts looking at them.

She looks at the three men before her. King Lao of the Zhena empire sitting at the head of the triangle table. Only in his forties and you could already see the gray hairs in his all but black hair color. For being a king, he does not look the part, average height with a body that tells he hasn't spent a day in the military training. He looks like a man that does not know why he is at all at the meeting. 'He should go home; the worrying looks he gives between king Arthur and king Mehmet makes it look like he will soon piss on himself.' The clothes that he is wearing are simple, a tunic with the gorilla as the royal seal, a black leather jacket and a simple crown.

Then there is king Arthur of Northa on the left side that has not stopped looking angry at her, queen Elizabeth of Luna. Where king Lao does not look the king part, king Arthur does look the part. In his early thirties the king is built with muscle, an ugly scar across his right eyebrow down to the chin. The scar makes his already angry face look intimidating. And his dark eyes, they give you the chill and the want to run away from the room away from the darkness that comes out from him. He is known for his evil and twisty dark things that he tortures his people with.

To the right of Elizabeth sits the king or like they say Sultan Mehmet the fifth of Thena and looks at king Arthur with disgust written on his face. Sultan Mehmet's sister is married to king Arthur 'I should never have let my sister marry that monster! If I could have the opportunity to kill that monster. 'Mehmet told her that every time they meet each other. 'What I do not understand is why did he let it happen? If he knew about what a monster Arthur is, why let his only sister suffer?' 

But who cares about them and their problems when she has her own problems and family to keep looking after. Many years ago, her husband had died suddenly and left her with two children, two boys. The years went by, they grew up, got married and had children. Now the danger that everybody feels in the room is threatening to fire at them.

King Arthur slaps his hand on the table which makes king Lao jump. ''If you don't give my land back, I will take it back myself.'' Elizabeth starts laughing and shakes her head which makes king Arthur angrier, she could see him clenching his hands to fists and the red color that has spread to his whole face.

''Arthur this land, Portia that you want has been Luna's for hundreds of years before even Northa existed. A gift from Thena of the peace that we have kept all these hundreds of years. You may be king of Northa, but you need to know when you have to stop. It makes you look desperate.''

Mehmet chuckles low and shakes his head lightly. Elizabeth gives him a smirk and turns her attention back to the king. If looks could kill you this would certainly have killed you. The dark eyes turned even darker, which made her lose a bit of her smirk. He gets up from the table and looks directly in her eyes when he says ''This was a warning, give the land back or I will take it from you and when I start, I won't stop until I have it all.''

With those words he left the room and the three stayed quiet and thought about the king's word. The land or a war that nobody wants. But Elizabeth knows that even if it got to a war, he would not stand a chance against her. She is the queen of Luna, the lioness, the moon queen that does not get destroyed.
