↭ Kai ↭

Kai spent the next day with Veronica in her room. He worked while making sure that she rested. She would go up to pick a book to read and he would put his mind into work. Either of them didn't speak with each other. Both of them were quiet.

It wasn't until they were eating dinner when she spoke up. '' Since the first day I came here, I have gotten notes from someones.''

Veronica laid down a few notes on the table. Kai stopped the fork midway and looked at her and the notes on the table. Kai picked them up and read them one after another.

' Who is this person?' he thought. He felt his jaw tick from anger.

'' I have also gotten notes from this protector. It was how I found you from the start.'' he said, his voice avoiding any emotion.

Veronica blinked, not saying anything. Kai felt his anger rising.

She looked down at the table when she answered '' He was right.''

'' Who is he?'' Kai asked with a frown.

Veronica looked up at him and shook her head. '' Not important right now. I think we have gotten in a game that we don't know how to play.''

She rose up from the chair, took it and put it before the bed. Veronica stepped up on the chair, reaching for one of the stars and touched it. The bookshelves behind Kai started to make sounds, he turned around and what he saw made his mouth open and stayed that way.

' What the hell? How long has she known about this?'

'' I found this two days ago....you need to go in the room to understand.''

She went in first, stopping halfway turning to look at him and let her hand out reaching for him to take. Kai took a few deep breaths and took the hand in his. Last step and he was in the room that was filled with many books. Books on the two tables, on the floor, everywhere.

The bookshelves started to make sounds again and when he turned, he saw them closing. He felt the panic rise on him. He made a step forward when he felt her hand on his arm. He turned around and looked at her, noticing no panic on her face.

'' When we are done here, the bookshelves will open again. Don't worry.''

Just as he wanted to say something, the light in the room turned off and what he saw made him gape. In front of him there was a hologram of his great grandmother. He had seen many paintings of her during the years, all in secret, making sure that his father never knew what he was doing.

During his childhood, he would hear the servants who had family who had worked in the palace at the time talk about how great she had been. The people loved her. Born poor to later become one of the most powerful women in the continent Moon. Even when she became queen she didn't stop taking care of the ones who needed help.

Her warning of his father and everything she said made him feel weak. What can he do? He's a prince without any loyalty from his people. He doesn't have any army.

The hologram ended with another one showing up. This time it wasn't his great grandmother he was seeing, it was his uncle, Sultan Mehmet the fifth.

'' If you're seeing this Kai, then it means I'm not alive. I'm only going to tell you one thing. Take your mother and sister and run to Thena, to your cousins. They will protect you until the day comes and you go up against your father. I have left behind some diaries of mine that you need to read. They are the answers you need to your questions. You and your sister may have his blood in you but you will always be Atahan.''
