Chapter 4

¤ Veronica ¤

The week passed and it was time for their entrance. For the past six days, Veronica woke up, ate breakfast and immediately started learning how to behave like a lady of royal blood. She got to try walking in dresses that were so tight she could barely breathe. Veronica promised herself to find the princess as quickly as possible and get a hold of Sam's killer, so that she doesn't have to pretend to be someone else. The faster she fixed the job, the faster she would escape the dresses.

Thawne shakes his head and does everything possible not to start laughing. The person he had met from the beginning was now a completely different one in front of him. The first time she had been dressed entirely in black and now she was wearing dresses in different colors. For every dress she has to put on, she has always had a new swear word that gives a rather powerful image.

But the funniest thing was when she learned to walk with heels, when she had put them on for the first time and took the first step,she had almost fallen.Swear words poured out at full speed and Thwane had to turn around so she wouldn't see how funny he thought it was. Every day for several hours, her heels were the only things that could be heard, clack, clack and bell.The sound of her heels annoyed Veronica with every step she took.

Meanwhile, Kai had been trying to teach her royal etiquette. Kai ended up always finding something wrong and the assassin gave him swear words back to account. it was actually a wonder they hadn't killed each other yet. Kai became so easily annoyed with Veronica that it was just enough that she opened her mouth, and he lost it. She herself was also a painstaking person who took every correction as criticism. Within the week she got better and better and the prince became less annoyed with Veronica.

This was her last day before she enters her character as a noblewoman and stays that way until she finds the princess. Tomorrow was the day, the day she would go into the castle and watch the king execute people. The day when she would be under the same roof as the cruel king who has taken many innocent lives.

Veronica sits on the couch waiting for today's executions to come on the screen. The prince is somewhere with the captain and fixes the last thing for tomorrow. This day passed with the death of three people. Two of them had only been at the wrong time and the third had been a rebel from another kingdom.

The broadcasts began when the current king Arthur came to power. He had said it was for the good of the people and a way to reduce crime. The cameras that had emerged around the entire kingdom gave alarm when it caught a criminal trying to carry out a crime. That's what the people thought from the beginning, but really it wasn't like that at all.It was just a way for the king to be in control of the people and know their every single step.

But over the years, rebels from Luna, the kingdom that fell after Northa attacked, have started giving Northa little trouble. It started with messages in which the rebels didn't let anyone from Northa forget that Luna will never give up. It started with messages that turned into people starting to disappear from every part of the country, small attacks on the military and more. Their message was that they would never give up and they were right about it. It's been twelve years and they're still fighting.

She turns off the screen and lays down on the couch she's been sleeping on for the past few days. Tomorrow is the day when she will be near the king. The king she has hated for years. As she goes through her plan, she falls asleep.

Kai and Thawne look at the screen in front of them showing Victoria walking straight and forward with her high heels. Back and forth, she goes and stumbles several times.
