Hot shot was soon going to have his second surgery. Hot shot was ready to be brave. He woke up the morning of the surgery. The nurses were keeping Hot shot very busy. They were checking his vitals. Hot shot was hungry he hasn't eaten anything since dinner last night. But he wasn't allowed to eat or drink before surgery this morning.

"You ready Hot shot?" A nurse called Wendy asked.

"Yes I'm ready," Hot shot said. Hot shot was moved down the hall on a bed. Hot shot saw many doctors, nurses and patients as he went by on the bed. Hot shot waved at them. Hot shot was soon brought into the OR. Hot shot was brought up on the table. Then Hot shot chose the smell for the medicine air he was going to have to make him fall asleep. He chose cupcake. It smelled yummy and soon he was fast asleep. Then Dr. Hansen went to work removing the remaining part of the tumor in the cerebellum. The treatment helped make it shrink. Dr. Hansen removed the remaining part completely. Then closed up Hot shot's head. Once that was done a bandage was wrapped around Hot shot's head.

Hot shot was now in the ICU to recover. Hot shot woke up and saw both of his parents. "Hot shot you did well in surgery from what Dr. Hansen told us," Quickshadow said.

"You were really brave son and we are so proud of you," Heatwave said.

"Hi mummy and daddy," Hot shot said with a smile.

Dr. Acord flashed a light in Hot shot's eyes. "Okay things are looking good," Dr. Acord said.

Soon Hot shot was starting to feel better over the next few days. Hot shot was doing therapy to get his strength back. Hot shot was also doing it to regain his balance. Hot shot was doing really well too. "Hot shot is doing well with his therapy, he is recovering quickly he is a real all-star," Dr. Acord said.

Hot shot was soon moved back to his room. Hot shot rest for a couple of weeks and was back on chemotherapy. Hot shot was taking his oral medicine without a fight. He was doing very well.

Hot shot was wondering about a few things. Hot shot was wondering why sometimes he had to be by himself.

He watched the video about being by himself. He learned he might be by himself for several reasons. But his family would always come right back. But as long as he had his imagination he was never really alone.

Hot shot often found himself getting bored in the hospital. He had to find ways to entertain himself. Sometimes Hot shot found it very hard to be in the hospital.

Today a couple of clowns came in. "Hello I am Dr. Placebo," Dr. Placebo said.

"I am Dr. Slipper," Dr. Slipper said.

Then Dr. Placebo proceeded to pull a long chain of scarfs out of Dr. Slipper's shirt. Then a pair of polka dot boxer shorts came out. "Hey that's my underwear!" Dr. Slipper said.

"I wonder how they got there?" Dr. Placebo said.

"Come on they're clean," Dr. Slipper said.

Hot shot started to laugh big belly laugh. He thought it was funny. It was the first time he laugh in a while. He was smiling too. "I have been waiting to hear that laugh for a while," Quickshadow said kissing his smooth bald head.

Hot even got a visit from a therapy dog. Hot shot was able to pet him and play with him. Hot shot was happy to be able to play with the therapy dog. He was acting like his happy self again.

Sometimes at the hospital Hot shot felt very tired and sick and just wanted to rest. Other times he was always wanting to play. But most of the time he felt super tired. He just didn't have a lot of energy. He was just not able to enjoy most activities he enjoyed before getting sick because he was so tired all the time. Hot shot was wondering why he was so tired all the time. He was very worried about it.

So Hot shot watched the video about why am I tired all the time. Hot shot learned that cancer treatment is what is making him tired. Because his body is using a lot of resources to fight the cancer and get better. But wasn't the same kind of tired as staying up too late, or having a big meal. It was a tired that made you feel stuck, out of power and can't wind yourself back up no matter what you try. Hot shot learned there is a bright side to it, even though he can't run around as much as he wants too, he can still have fun. He can listen to music, do arts and crafts and even read a good book. Hot shot learned there are many ways to have fun with things that are not physical they are plenty of fun too.

Hot shot was able to play some music with a music therapist a bit later. Hot shot was even painting. Hot shot found it fun to paint. He found he can let his feelings just go with the paint. It was a lot of fun. He was able to paint many pictures and have a lot of fun.

Soon a Hot shot was taken back for his other surgery. Hot shot was ready for it too. Hot shot was brave when they took him into the OR. This time Hot shot chose bubble gum for the scent of the medicine air. Hot shot began to breathe in the medicine. He was sleeping soon and then Dr. Hansen went right to work at removing the smaller tumor from his frontal lobe. Then managed to take it out easily. Then he closed up Hot shot's head once again and then wrapped a bandage around it.

Hot shot was once again in the ICU unit of the hospital. Hot shot woke up and saw his parents smiling at him once again. Hot shot was happy to see them.

"Dr. Hansen said you did really well during your surgery," Quickshadow said.

"He also said they managed to get all of the tumor out," Heatwave said. "You are really our brave little firefighter," he said.

"Hi mummy and daddy," Hot shot said.

Dr. Acord once again shined a light in Hot shot's eyes like she did after the previous two surgeries. "Okay looks good," Dr. Acord said.

Then Hot shot went back to therapy after that. Hot shot was able to do things therapy. He was working hard and getting strong again. Hot shot was feeling better as the days went by. Hot shot was feeling his strength returning. He was feeling so much better now that the tumors were out of his head.

Hot shot's staples for his surgeries were taken out about 14 days later. Hot shot now had these two big scars on his head. Hot shot had a feeling he was going to have to get used to it. But he was okay with the scars to be honest it showed the world he was brave. He was going to keep being brave too throughout whatever may remain of his treatment too.
