It was one drink after another. Caught in politics and gender-roles. And you're not sure and I don't know.

Eventually y/n found the food cart that read "UDON" on the side. The food cart worker seemed a bit worried about the tired teenagers standing in front of him. It was also apparent that Nezuko was in fact sleep walking, but the worker said nothing. Tanjiro and y/n ordered their food and waited.

"Have you always been bad with directions, y/n?" Tanjiro questioned, turning to look at the women next to him.

Y/n chuckled before answering, "I was never really alone any time I went out because of how protective my mom was. So, when she died, I had to learn how to be alone."

"Well, it's a good thing you're not alone now," Tanjiro replied, grinning. y/n looked at the boy and smiled, but before she could say anything their food was ready. Y/n grabbed both bowls, thanked the worker, and headed back to Tanjiro. She handed him his bowl and just as y/n started to take a bite, Tanjiro's bowl shattered beside her.

An overwhelming feeling of anger and rage took over y/n's senses. She looked up at her friend, who the anger had radiated off of. Y/n watched as her friend carefully reached for his sword and ran off. The girl called after him, but he was too far gone to hear her, so she ran to him.

Over all the people in the city, y/n couldn't make out where Tanjiro was. So many bad thoughts raced through her mind. What if she got lost? What if Nezuko was still where she was when the sun rose? What if Tanjiro died? Y/n shook the last question out she her brain.

Through crowds of people, she finally found Tanjiro. Y/n slowed down when she realized who he had chased after.

Muzan Kibutsuji.

The feeling of being around him, his aura, was so horrifying. Y/n knew who the man was, ever demon slayer did. The first thought that crossed her head was to end Muzan's existence right there, but she looked around and realized all the people standing around her. Her mind reminded her of who she followed to him, Tanjiro. She jogged up to him and put a hand on his shoulder to reassure him that it was fine, even though it was not.

What was Muzan planning to do to this people? He wouldn't be here without a reason. Maybe to make us demon slayers mad and cause chaos? Y/n squeezed Tanjiro's shoulder without realizing it. Though, Tanjiro didn't stop y/n. Instead, he started to pull out his sword again, but someone's voice stopped him.

"Daddy?" A little girl's voice questioned from behind Muzan. Tanjiro and y/n froze as Muzan turned around to look at us with a young girl in his arms. The worst thing about this whole situation was that the girl was human. Behind Muzan, a lady appeared, who the little girl called mother.

The thought that Muzan was hiding with the humans made y/n sick. He had consumed so many, so why hide with them? She wished she could ask those questions, but she feared if she even opened her mouth, she would vomit. Beside Tanjiro, a women screamed. Y/n whipped her head to the sound to see a man with claw marks on his back falling to the ground.

Both Tanjiro and y/n felt their fight or flight response, this is what made them different. Y/n wanted to run, but Tanjiro wanted to fight. He jumped on the demon, holding him down so he couldn't hurt anyone else. Y/n's brain told her to run, but her heart told her to help the women and the man who had been injured. So, that's what she did, she knelt to the women's level and tried to comfort her.

"Sweetie!" She called to who y/n assumed to be her husband.

"Don't worry about him right now!" y/n said, which sounded a bit more rude than she intended. "Worry about yourself, okay?" The women nodded.
