Did you leave her house in the middle of the night? Did you wish you'd put up more of a fight?

~~~~~~~
No one spoke on the way back to the Udon cart. They were completely silent; to the point where you could hear any of them breathing. The tension was driving y/n insane. Tanjiro's anxiety was going to eat him alive. Both their footsteps were quiet, almost as if they were trying to escape from someone.
There was weight on y/n's chest. She had so many questions, probably the same ones as Tanjiro. Both y/n's and Tanjiro's movements were slow as they overthought every moment from before. Y/n wondered if she should question the man standing beside her or let everything be.
The feeling of all this made y/n want to cry. As she clutched her fists, her nails dug into her palm. Y/n took a deep breath before being startled by Tanjiro whispering her name. His voice was barely audible.
"Don't ever do that again, Tanjiro," y/n snapped. "If you died, I don't know what I would've done. How could I have told Nezuko that her brother was gone?" Tanjiro was surprised with the sudden emotion from y/n. He understood why she was angry at him though.
"Your emotions were crazy and that made me feel like hell!" Y/n didn't mean to yell at him, but everything overwhelmed her. "It was crazy scary, Tanjiro! You were all negative and mad and I didn't know what caused it at first!"
"Scary...?" He questioned, barely audible once again.
"Yes, scary! And so was Muzan, but you already know that," y/n replied, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Look, if you ever sense something like that again, tell me. No one is alone now."
Before Tanjiro could agree, y/n carried on, "he could've killed us with just a snap of his fingers!"
"You don't know that," he scoffed, softly arguing with y/n.
"I do," y/n replied, firmly. "The things he has done to people is horribly messed up, you of all people should know that." His eyebrows furrowed at the comment about his family. Y/n had no right to say anything about a situation she knows nothing about. Tanjiro wanted to argue, he really did, but he knew it wouldn't get them anywhere.
Y/n turned around and lightly gripped his shoulder, "I know your angry. I am too, but we can't fight him just yet. We would be murdered instantly." Tanjiro knew she was right, but he hated it that she was. Y/n took a deep breath and removed her hand off of Tanjiro before saying, "I'm sorry for yelling at you. I just really had to get that out."
"It's okay, I get it," Tanjiro replied, softly smiling. "And you're right. I should've said something to you. I'm sorry."
"It's okay," y/n replied, smiling in return. "Lets get back to Nezuko."
Y/n and Tanjiro stood up straight as the worker at the Udon truck spoke to them. "Alright, here's the deal! It's not about the money! What I can't forgive is your lack of intent to eat my udon, alright?!" The worker shouted. They were both shaken up at the man's words.
"I'm so sorry!" Tanjiro apologized. "Please serve us another bowl!"
"Please!" Y/n chimed in. They both actually wanted to eat this time. Well, they did before, but someone got a little distracted. The worker paused and his chin as he thought about what to do next.
"So, you're gonna actually eat this time?" The worker asked them. Both of them gave a firm nod in reply. "Alright!" The worker said.
"And you"-his attention was averted to Nezuko, who innocently stood next to y/n-"If you're going to have udon take the bamboo off first! What's it for anyways?!" Y/n almost laughed at the man's comment. Nezuko looked up at the man, confused.
"Chopsticks! Take these chopsticks!" The worker franticly waved his hands around. Tanjiro weaved through Nezuko and y/n to get to the man.
"I would like a bowl of udon!" Tanjiro decided, firmly gripped the man's hands. "Actually, I would like two bowls of udon!" Nezuko and y/n exchanged confused glances.
"Right..." The worker replied, leaning away from Tanjiro's determination to get those bowls of udon. Tanjiro turned back to the two girls behind him with his hands on his hips and marched to a nearby bench. Y/n chuckled at the boys silliness.
A couple minutes later, their three bowls of udon were ready. Once the bowls were in their hands, they immediately began to scarf it down. Once they finished, they thanked the worker for the meal and began to gather their things.
"Come again!" The worker called as they walked into the distance. Y/n waved at the man over her shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Nezuko, for leaving you behind like that," Tanjiro sighed. Nezuko seemed to pay no mind to the boy's apology. A couple seconds later, Nezuko stopped dead in her tracks, which worried both Tanjiro and y/n.
"What's wrong, Nezuko?" Tanjiro asked his sister. Y/n knew exactly why she stopped, one of the demons that saved them before was standing close to them. He has minty green hair with black tips. The demon's cat-like eyes were burning into y/n's soul as they stared at each other. He scowled at her and y/n scowled back. It was like they were having a staring contest.
Tanjiro worried about the two girls just staring at the demon, so he wandered towards him, the girls following behind him. "You waited for us. Why?" Y/n asked the demon. He seemed startled by y/n's voice, like he didn't expect it to sound the way it had.
"Because I was told to bring you to see her," he replied, clearing his throat after he spoke.
Tanjiro chimed in, "I could've followed your scent."
"Our place is under a concealment spell," the boy clarified. "No way you would've found us." Y/n found her self confused at the fact that the demons could use witch craft. Well, demons could use their demon blood art. Is that the same thing as witch craft?
"Anyways..." the demon carried on and pointed a finger at Nezuko. "Isn't she a demon? She's a hag." Tanjiro and y/n's jaw dropped. How could he say such a thing? Y/n didn't like him from the moment they looked at each other, but she liked him even less when he said that. Nezuko only seemed confused with the boy's words, not offended.
Tanjiro took the boy's statement as a slap to the face. "Who in the right mind would call her a hag?!" He yelled. "Just take a good look at her features!" Tanjiro turned back to his sister and walked next to her to almost present her to the demon.
"Nezuko was known as our town beauty!" Tanjiro continued. Y/n didn't doubt that she was, but the demon didn't care about anything Tanjiro had to say.
"Let's go," the demon said and turned around to start walking.
"Fine, we'll go! But there's no way she's a hag!" Tanjiro argued, following the demon and dragging Nezuko along with him.
