Their breaths harmonize, slow and deep. With each inhale, they take in the intoxicating scent of each other, unleashing a rush of poignant memories and heartfelt emotions.
Time passes, each second brimming with the silent communication of their embrace. They are unwilling to break free from each other's arms, savoring the long-missed physical presence and the sense of homecoming that only the other can offer.
Jungkook's hand cradles the back of Taehyung's head, his fingers weaving tenderly through his hair, while Taehyung buries his face into the warm curve of Jungkook's neck, feeling solace.
Jungkook feels the softness of Taehyung's hair against his cheek, a scent that is at once familiar and intoxicating. Taehyung's hands grip the fabric of his shirt, holding on as if afraid Jungkook might disappear if he lets go.
"You are so cruel," Taehyung murmured, attempting to pull away from the embrace. But Jungkook tightened his hold, refusing to let him go.
"I'm sorry," Jungkook's voice gently wrapped in tenderness.
"I was scared," Taehyung whispered, a single tear tracing a path down his cheek.
Sensing Taehyung's sadness, Jungkook gradually released the embrace, yet kept one hand securely around Taehyung's waist. With a delicate touch, he lifted Taehyung's chin, until their gazes intertwined.
"Forgive me," Jungkook whispered near Taehyung's lips. Their eyes locked, delving deep into each other's souls.
"Forgive-" Taehyung interrupted Jungkook, covering his mouth with his palm to halt his apology.
"Please, don't," Taehyung requested softly.
Afterward, he withdrew slightly from Jungkook. With gentle care, his hand traversed Jungkook's body, checking for any injuries and ensuring he was completely alright.
"I'm perfectly fine, sweetheart," Jungkook assured, his warm smile understanding Taehyung's worry.
Taehyung took a small step back, a blush blooming on his cheeks at the tender name-calling that caught him off guard.
"You broke your promise." Taehyung looked away and soon turned his heels.
He walked towards the stairs. Jungkook stood still, his heart sinking with the realization of how deeply he had hurt Taehyung.
Taehyung didn't look behind as he went upstairs with a heavy heart, choking his inner desire to stay pressed or crash himself into Jungkook's embrace for so long.
As Taehyung neared the balcony, he paused, noticing the gathering of clouds in the sky. He realizes-he has left his new painting. He stepped onto the balcony, carefully placing the painting in a safe spot shielded from the impending rain.
Before Taehyung could return to gather his art supplies, he saw Jungkook standing on the opposite side of the glass wall that framed the balcony entrance. Taehyung standing on the other side.
They stood divided by the transparent barrier, their gazes meeting through it. Taehyung's emotions are veiled.
On the other side, Jungkook extended his hand, gently pressing his finger against the smooth glass surface. With a delicate touch, he traced a path from Taehyung's forehead to his lips.
A shiver coursed down Taehyung's spine in response. He turned away from Jungkook's view.
" Show some mercy Taehyung," The petite's breath hitched.
Therefore, his heart got mad as it pounded loudly. Turning away from Jungkook's view, he walked back near his art supplies to gather. Each step is heavy with unresolved tension between them.
