Chapter #4: Ash and Serena vs Olivia!

In the morning, Ash and Serena are ready to battle against Olivia after they have finished training for the upcoming Island Challenge Grand Trial on Akala Island. Ash and Serena managed to finish their training for Grassium Z.

Professor Kukui, Kiawe, Sophocles, Lana, Mallow, and Lillie cheered on Ash and Serena for grand trials. A few hours later, they managed to arrive at Ruins of Life for their ceremony for the grand trial. Ash and Serena were shocked and amazed by the area, especially that cave.
Kiawe explained it to Ash and Serena, and they understand it.
Ash and Serena went down the stairs, and they reached Olivia, who was already in Battlefield for the grand trial, while Professor Kukui was in charge as a referee. Kiawe, Sophocles, Lana, Mallow, and Lillie start watching Ash and Serena's grand trial against Olivia.
When Ash and Serena were about to choose a pokemon, Ash's Rockruff wanted to challenge Olivia's Lycanroc (Midday Forme), but Ash didn't know and picked up Rockruff and hugged him, but Rockruff bit Ash's arm, and he dropped Rockruff.
Serena checked Ash's arm, but he's still right. When Professor Kukui announces the grand trial, Olivia chose her Probopass, but she's also called Lycanroc (Midday Forme), and Ash, Serena, and Professor Kukui were shocked by Olivia.

Olivia explained that grand trials are double battles, and she suggests that Ash and Serena do grand trials together, but they need to choose one pokemon for each of them. Ash and Serena realize it, and they agree with it. Professor Kukui, Kiawe, Sophocles, Lana, Mallow, and Lillie were shocked on Olivia's decision and they gonna witnesses 2-on-1 pokemon battle but double battle. Ash chose Rockruff, while Serena chose Pancham.
But Ash's Rockruff determined that it wanted to defeat Olivia's Lycanroc, which Rotom Dex confirmed, and Ash was right to choose Rockruff. Ash and Serena's pokemon have started cheering on their trainer for the grand trial.
Professor Kukui said that the battle has begun!

Serena: "Alright, Pancham! Use Dark Pulse!"

Ash: "Rockruff, Rock Throw!"

Pancham creates a ball of black and purple rings of energy in each hand while The rocks around Rockruff's neck glow white and a multi-colored orb appears on its tail. Pancham started combines them and fires the rings as a beam of energy rings while The orb dissolves into multiple sparkles that turn into rocks with a white glow around them, which Rockruff then fires at the Olivia's Pokémon.

Olivia: "Get ready!"

Olivia's Probopass "[PRO!]"

Olivia's Lycanroc (Midday Forme) "[LYCAN!]"

Ash, Serena, and others were shocked by Olivia's first surprise tactics.Olivia: "All right, Lycanroc, use Rock Slide."

Some of the tuffs on Midday Form Lycanroc's fur glow white and then fade as it creates multiple rocks outlined in a white glow around its body. Midday Form Lycanroc then fires the rocks and managed destroyed incoming Dark Pulse and Rock Throw and attacked Rockruff and Pancham and took the damage and took airborned.

Ash: "Oh, no!"

Serena: "Pancham and Rockruff, no!"

Lillie uses her hand to cover her face and doesn't want to see them get injured by Rockruff and Pancham.

Mallow: "So did Pancham and Rockruff both take damage?"

Kiawe: "They did. It's what makes Rock Slide so dangerous."

As Rockruff and Pancham fell to the ground, but they managed to land on their feet and they start getting serious.

Ash: "Rockruff, are you okay?"

Serena: "Same you, Pancham, are you okay?"

Ash's Rockruff: "[Rockruff!]"

Serena: Pancham: "[Pancham!]"

Lana: "Oh! That was scary."

Mallow: "My heart skipped a beat."

Olivia: "Now use Stealth Rock!"

Probopass's eyes glow light blue and its Mini-Noses spin around its body, forming a light blue ring of energy on the ground around the opponent. After the glow fades, The area that glowed is then filled with similar stone pillars, surrounding the Rockruff and Pancham.

Ash and Serena: "[gasps]"

Ash's Rockruff: "[Ruff Ruff!]"

Serena: Pancham: "[Cham!]"

Mallow: "Hey. What's going on?"

As Rockruff started attacking it, Ash tried to stop them, but Rockruff didn't listen, and Rockruff took damage from the Stealth Rock trap.

Ash: "Rockruff!"

Rockruff seemed fine after taking damage from Stealth Rock, but Stealth Rock started surrounding them again.

Lana "They're surrounded."

Sophocles: "That Stealth Rock is a serious challenge."

Kiawe: "Yeah, that's Olivia, using Lycanroc to attack, while Probopass acts as a backup. She has their Double Battle roles clearly defined. This grand trial is a lot more complicated than I thought."

Serena: "Ash, I have an idea!"

Ash: "Serena, what is your strategy?"

Serena: "My Pancham going to use Stone Edge, and while your Rockruff and my Pancham jumps over those Stealth Rocks via Stone Edge."

Ash: "That's a great idea, Serena."

Serena: "Thanks, Ash! Pancham, use Stone Edge!"

Pancham slams its hand on the ground, causing glowing light blue pillars of rock to appear and rush towards the Stelath Rock.

Ash: "Rockruff, start jumping on those stone edges to reach the other side of Stealth Rock."

Serena: "Same you too, Pancham!"

Rockruff and Pancham started jumping on Stone Edge's rocks, and they managed to get past the stealth rock, start jumping, and prepare for an attack on Olivia's Pokemon.

Serena: "Ash give me a boost from your Rockruff's tackle for my Pancham while I'm going to use Arm Thrust."

Ash: "Alright, Serena."

Serena: "Pancham, use Arm Thrust on Probopass."

Ash: "Rockruff, use Tackle on Pancham."

Pancham's hands glow white while Rockruff tackled Pancham and Pancham strikes the Probopass with his glowing hand. Probopass took very super effective! Pancham forcing fall and regroup on Rockruff.

Olivia: "Ash and Serena are good at their strategy, but I wonder how long they can keep it up. Magnet Bomb, let's go!"

When Olivia snapped her fingers, A silver orb appears in front of Probopass's nose. The eyes on Probopass's Mini-Noses flash orange and they fly off towards the Rockruff and Pancham.

Sophocles: "Here come the Mini-Noses."

Mini-Noses get close Rockruff and Ruff and toying them. Rockruff and Phancam were trying to dodge the Mini-Noses, but they could not escape, and they kept trying to toy with them.

Olivia: "There's no escape! Never underestimate the Mini-Noses' attack formation."

Serena: "This is bad! She's good at it."

Ash: "Don't give up until it's over!"

Once the Mini-Noses try close enough to the Rockruff and Ruff but Rockruff pound Mini-Noses and fell to the stealth rock but managed get back on track to toying them.

Ash: "Rockruff, use Rock Throw!"

Serena: "Pancham, use Dark Pulse!"

The rocks around Rockruff's neck glow white and a multi-colored orb appears on its tail. The orb dissolves into multiple sparkles that turn into rocks with a white glow around them, which Rockruff then fires at the destroyed two of the Mini-Noses. While, Pancham creates a ball of black and purple rings of energy in each hand. It then combines them and fires the rings as a beam of energy rings at the Mini-Noses and they also destroyed its. But suddenly, One Mini-Noses managed close enough on Rockruff and Pancham from behind, Probopass's eyes glow orange and they explode. Rockruff and Pancham took damage from explosion and took also damage on Stealth Rock.

Ash: "Rockruff, no!"
