The next day at the Cerulean Gym, Professor Kukui revealed that they were going to have an exhibition gym battle for their school learners. Clemont and Bonnie are also here, and they are going to watch their battle.

First Battle: Misty won the exhibition gym battle against Mallow and Lana.

Second Battle: Brock also won the exhibition gym battle against Lillie and Sophocles.

The Third battle is very intense between Brock and Kiawe. Brock uses his Steelix, while Kiawe uses the Turtonator. Battle Rage on, Kiawe activated his Z-move on Brock unfortunately, Brock removed his shirt, and Brock showed a muscle with a necklace of Mega Keystone, which was revealed by Clemont and Bonnie. Brock's Steelix becomes Mega Steelix due to the Mega Keystone and survives the Z move due to Sturdy Ability. Clemont also explained why Steelix survived the Z-move due to his sturdy ability, with which Brock won the battle. Fourth round between Ash and Misty.

Ash is going to choose Pikachu, but Greninja wants to battle Misty, and Serena suggests that he didn't use Greninja much since they were on Alola and Ash realized it, so he used Greninja while Pikachu was watching them and cheering alongside Serena. Battlefield changes into water and Rock Cliff.

Misty chose Gyarados, while Ash chose Greninja. Misty is excited to fight Ash's Greninja, while Ash's also excited that he's going to use Greninja since Kalos already used him on the Island Trial against Wishiwashi.

Mallow: "I think Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie know what's going to happen in this battle, and I don't know why."

Ash: "Greninja, use Water Shuriken!"

Gyarados roars, summoning a dark cloud that spins around and then stops. Rain then pours from the cloud.

Alola students where confused on Rain Dance.

Sophocles: "It's raining."

Lillie: "But how can it rain in here?"

Lana: "It feels so good!"

Ash's Greninja: "[Gre!]"

Ash: "Greninja, stay alert."

Ash's Greninja: "[Ninja!]"

Ash: "Greninja, use Double Team, followed by Cut!"

Professor Kukui: "Using Hurricane in the rain was a good move. But Ash's Greninja were impressive strategy, and this battle is going to be exciting."
