It hurts.
Everything just hurts. It hurts to the point Taehyung whimpers clutching his stomach laying on the ground as kicks rain over him, each blow making him feel the ache deep in his bones. He thinks he is going to die today.
Finally. At least he'd die.
“Enough.” The voice commands, it's monotonous, empty. “Can’t end his misery.”
Taehyung hates him. He looks up through his blurry vision, staring at the omega wearing clothes too big for him all in pastels. Completely contrasting his personality.
“Why…?” Taehyung sits up, biting down his lip as ache shoots up his ribs. Hurts. Hurts so bad. He hates him. “Afraid of being a murderer?”
“No.” The omega answers. “Afraid to see you rest in peace.”
“Jeongguk-shi,” someone calls from afar, “let's go, your father is asking for you.”
Jeongguk, the omega, waves. “Five minutes.” He says, crouching down as he stares right at Taehyung. “I want you gone.”
“Why?” Taehyung asks. He has asked a hundred times. Why was he subjected to such cruelty? What did he even do to Jeongguk?
“Told you…” Jeongguk reaches forward and Taehyung doesn't flinch like he did the first time, he knows what's coming. The omega gently tucks his hair behind his ear, feathery touch of his knuckles trailing down his muddy, tear stained cheeks. “I don't want you to rest in peace.”
Taehyung turns his face away and spits the blood out of his mouth, sprinkles of it end up on Jeongguk's white jeans. Two little droplets. Jeongguk stares at them.
“Why do you want me to leave this pack?” Taehyung breathes out. It's not the first time he is asking this question. He asks every time Jeongguk hurts him, praying he'd at least be answered once.
“The blue in your eyes.” Jeongguk sighs, palm against Taehyung's cheek. “They bother me. I can't stand them.”
Taehyung feels like screaming, crying, watching Jeongguk stand up and look down on him. He hurts him then touches him tenderly and it confuses Taehyung to no end.
“Leave my pack before I decide to drag your sister here and get these guys to beat her up.” Jeongguk blinks, such a gruesome thing to say, still there is not a single speck of emotion on his face.
“She's six!”
“I don't care. Would you rather have it be your mother?”
Taehyung grits his teeth glaring up at Jeongguk. “I don't really believe in the fact that I'm cursed.” He hisses standing up as he towers over Jeongguk. “But I wish I were so I could curse that you end up with a mate who'd ruin you in ways you can't even bear.”
Jeongguk just takes a step towards the alpha, making Taehyung back against the wall. He looks like he wants to say something but he just wipes away blood from Taehyung's lips. Slow, gentle touch. Fingers trembling when Taehyung hisses at the slight burn he feels when Jeongguk's finger thumb brushes against the open cut.
“Leave before it gets worse.”
All Taehyung feels is rage as he watches Jeongguk walk away with all the men that surround him. He stares at the omega until he takes a turn and disappears behind the wall.
He has questions and Jeongguk does not provide him with any of the answers. The omega wasn't bothering him, not even looking at him— he doubts Jeongguk even knew about his existence three months ago.
Something happened, everything just changed, flipped over unexpectedly. Drastically so. Because when Taehyung entered the university on his bicycle Jeongguk stared at him until he entered the building.
