It has started to snow, those delicate little flakes falling soon the white would blanket the green around the pack house.
Taehyung inhales a deep breath, Moonsway smells different when it snows, crisp and cold, the alpha thinks it's a distinct scent. He likes it when it snows.
Moonsway looks better when it's white.
It's cold, Taehyung shivers when the cold air hits him as he stands at the balcony in just a sweater. It's not thick enough to block away the cold but Taehyung is used to being cold.
Myung had called him here, the pack alpha had wanted to talk to him.
"Admiring what you are gonna own, my lad?" Myung walks beside him, unlike Taehyung he is wearing a thick coat. "You're gonna catch a cold."
"I'm a lad of streets with broken roofs and not enough money to even pay the electric bill of a heater, affording one is farfetched." Taehyung looks at the man standing beside him. Myung is tall, there is a certain aura around him that makes Taehyung a bit vary. "I'll be fine, sir."
"I'm from the streets as well... I can't bear the cold anymore like I used to." Myung chuckles, white puff of clouds leaving his chattering lips. "I had this conversation with my father in law, wanna hear?"
Not like Taehyung was in any place to deny. "Yes, sir."
"I was here for the first time, just like you are right now. I was, too, called by the head alpha." Myung sighs as he takes another step closer to the rail, turning and leaning onto it, facing Taehyung.
The pack alpha looks like a ruler at that very moment. The white covering the lands behind him and a few flakes settling on him makes him seem so powerful that Taehyung tries hard not to get nervous.
"Oh," Taehyung takes a step forward too, "why?"
"He told me when he stood on this balcony he felt powerful because from here to the point your vision takes you it was all owned by him." Myung tilts his head back, eyes closed as the flakes land on his skin and instantly melt. "He asked me about what I felt."
"You must have felt powerful too."
"No, lad, I wanted to run away."
Taehyung looks down at his feet. "So, do I."
"I had to stay back for my mate. I still remember the first time I saw her... she just shines so bright that my life was never dark after I held her. Still, even when she is so bright her eyes are always dark. Even when she smiles I always feel she is sad." Myung opens his eyes, laughing with a shake of head. "Sorry, I didn't mean to go off topic."
"It's not a problem, sir." Taehyung smiles at him, probably the first genuine smile he must have given the man. Myung loves Areum, it's so obvious.
It really does make a bile of acid swirl in his chest realizing how he is robbed of this pure love.
Probably in another life he'll have a mate that needs him like the heart needs blood.
He'd love to also hold his mate and escape all the darkness, pity his mate is the one blocking every silver of light away from him.
Even if Taehyung does try to find excuses for Jeongguk's action he can't bring himself to let it go. All of it, the pain, the embarrassment, the fear feels like it's stuck to him like the roots of his hair. Everytime he even looks at Jeongguk his stomach drops at the thought of spending a lifetime with him.
Taehyung balls his fist as inhales a deep breath. This is life. He is born with blue eyes and has been ridiculed for it all his life, he can definitely live with his mate hating the living guts of him.
