Taehyung gulps as he looks around, the pack house looks every bit royal. The tiles are clean, Taehyung worries one wrong step and he may slip so he puts down his steps firmly.

When the maid pushes the door open Taehyung enters the grand room, it's big, one bed in the middle and the walls are high, painted with flowers. There is a balcony that shows an alluring view of the gardens.

“Wow…” Daehyun gasps, “we are really gonna live here now?”

“No, my young lady, this is just a temporary arrangement, your rooms are separately being prepared.” The maid that led them in smiles. “It's bigger than this one and has a balcony.”

A room better than this? Taehyung gulps, this is already extraordinarily expensive, how much better can it even get.

“Oppa, princesses live in rooms like these, right?” Daehyun squeals as he wiggles down just to hop and jump on the bed. “Oppa! This is so soft! Is it made of clouds?!”

Taehyung watches her giggles and jumps on the bed. She looks happier than ever. His gaze turns to his mother and she is smiling too, looking at Daehyun.

“You don't want to mate the Jeon do you?” Jihyun sighs as she looks at Taehyung. “I won't trade your happiness for hers. Her giggles make me happy but I know you'll be burdened for the rest of your life, I wouldn't be able to live with it. If you don't want him, reject him now so we can go back.” She cups Taehyung's jaw and caresses his cheek. “We can't let her stay too long, if we do she'll only get more attached.”

“Oppa!” Daehyun giggles as she rolls in her bed. Her smile is so wide that it hides her eyes away. “I wanna live here forever!”

Taehyung felt his heart clench. His mother was right, she can't stay here any longer.

“Boy!”

Taehyung turns to stare at the man that jogs towards him. He doesn't like this man, something about him makes his skin crawl. The way his eyes were glancing at Daehyun earlier made him uncomfortable.

“Yes?”

“Your lack of respect really bothers me.” Jung-jae clicks his tongue. “Where are you going?”

“To Jeongguk.”

“To reject him?”

Taehyung narrows his eyes. Was this man here to stop him?

“So you are going to reject him, eh?” Jung-jae raises his eyebrows. “You are really dumb.”

“Aren’t you here to stop me?” Taehyung asks as he looks at the man. The kohl lining his eyes make them look sharp, there is a scar running down his left cheek— it looks more like a nail scratch rather than an honorable mark left by a battle.

“No.” Jung-jae shrugs. “I'm here to give you an alternative.  Mate him and make him suffer for the rest of his life.” He takes a step closer to the blue eyed. "We can do it together."

"Did everybody in this house know that their precious omega bullied his mate?" Taehyung grits his teeth as he glares at the man.

"No." Jung-jae shakes his head. "Just me." He pats Taehyung's shoulder. "Be smart and make Jeongguk suffer tenfold of what you have went through, I'll show you exactly how you could do it."

Taehyung takes a step back from the man. He has questions about the man, questions he wants to ask the man but he doubts he'd ever get sensible answers for any of it.

“The whole point of rejecting him is I don't want to suffer.”

“Your call.” Jung-jae chuckles. “Either way, I'm the one winning.”
