The next morning Jaime and I had slowly made our way downstairs before the tavern was supposed to be open so he could leave without getting much slack from the citizens who would feel so honored to see him.  I just wanted it to be me and him at this moment that could be our last.  He held my hand in his right one standing in the doorway with me. “I hate to think you won’t be visiting me almost everyday for a while.”

“Don’t worry, I have something else already covered.” He reassured me by tucking some loose stands of silver hair behind my ear.

Raising a brow at his statement I didn’t quite understand what he meant by that sentence. “What do you mean you have something else other than me just working here to hide out?”

“I have some very clever help inside the Red Keep.” Jaime pushed the tavern door revealing Tyrion leaning in the doorway.

I clicked my tongue with a smirk playing on my lips. “Tyrion Lannister.”

“It’s been far too long since we’ve seen each other, princess.” He paused, giving me a bow out of respect, making me smile. “Forgive me, I’m not used to bowing especially to the current queen who sometimes wishes me dead.”

I held up a hand gesturing for him to rise to his feet. “That’s not necessary, Tyrion. Please get up, get up.”

“If I called you princess you’d yell at me.  I feel hurt by your reaction to him.” Jaime responded, squeezing my hand that he still held in his.

Tyrion shrugged his shoulders. “I can’t help that I have a different relationship with her than you do, brother.”

“Lannister, do you have my next two rent coins if you’re going to take my help from me or not?” Jack the tavern owner asked, entering our conversation moving around the bar.

Tyrion reached inside his pocket tossing the coin bag up into the air and into the owner’s waiting hands. “A Lannister always pays his debt.”

“You can have her now, dwarf.” The owner walked out of the room leaving the three of us alone where I finally had to look at the younger lion needing to know whatever plan he had up his sleeve this time. He saved my life 17 years ago after all.

“So what exactly is the brilliant plan running through that head of yours this time?”

Tyrion waved his hands in front of his chest telling me of his grand plan. “Jaime and I agreed that while he is away you need to have someone looking out for your safety.  I am the Hand of the King now meaning I will forever live inside the Red Keep and so should you.”

“How could you get me back in the Red Keep exactly?”

He finished his statement with hopeful green eyes. “You pose as a handmaiden for Ned Stark’s eldest daughter Sansa.  She’s a sweet and innocent girl so there’s a very unlikely chance that she would tell anyone about your true identity if she found out about who you are.”

“Wow.  I - that’s actually extremely clever. Except that I have no handmaiden experience to pose as one.” I hung my mouth open nearly at a loss for words.

Tyrion pointed his index finger at me. “You didn’t think you could pretend to be a tavern girl and now you act like it’s second nature.”

“He’s got you there, Vaella.” Jaime sent me a smile agreeing with his brother.

The dwarf clasped his hands together proudly. “And you’re a quick poker learner too.”

“I doubt poker will come up pretending to be a handmaiden but I appreciate the confidence boost.” I grinned looking up at Jaime seeing him grinning down at me.  Jaime followed us up to the castle with me giving him one last hug before he left on the KingsRoad.  “You’ve made me a promise and you better keep it.”
