THE walk was not silent as the light hashira had anticipated. instead, she was bombarded with questions that she was sure the brain trauma either hadn't taken its effect, or if they easily grasped onto the situation as the quick-witted suo.
"so.. based on what had occurred, the creature wasn't our friend?" the pinkette muses, yet his tone held a tinge of weariness. a quiet concern for the orange-haired who was not with them. "how.. are you so sure that taiga's just... roaming around?" kiryu fidgets with the hem of his uniform's sleeve.
[name] arched a brow discreetly as the pinkette continued.
"I don't really mean to doubt, but the creature easily replicated his entire form perfectly, if not for the missing detail that was lacking." he added, his green eyes finding for any sort of emotion on the hashira's confirmation or denial.
she continued to stride forward.
"when one becomes a demon, their appearance alters. they don't get to stay the way they look previously." at that, their interest was piqued. "alas, if he was a demon—he'd be unrecognizable to you."
she resigned herself from adding a comment—he could've been dead. on this occasion, that possibility weighted the most.
by chance if a demon had seen a mortal roaming—taking their form, it would be unusual to leave them alive.
this demon had the clear intent to cause harm, that was clear.
silence engulfed their silhouettes, striding near the hashira who held herself up high. they were unsure how to act, how to speak. it gave them the moment to finally process. it wasn't going to be easy, and their reactions proved the fact.
suo lingered the closest, appraising her form.
if not for her mannerisms, the maroon-haired male would have estimated her to be older. but with the closer inspection it was clear — she was within their age gap if not the same. her maturity in this knowledge had initially made him reconsider.
to effortlessly take down creatures without an hence of hesitation spoke volumes, it made him wonder what she had gone through.
"u-um, earlier... when you.. decapitated the creature," nirei spluttered, hands sweaty. "what was that coming out of your sword...?"
"..." [name] pauses in her tracks for a moment, looking over at the blonde who was severely battered on his face, scrutinizing. "that's none of your concern."
