Chapter 6

Tanjiro and Kanao let go of each other and stand on their own while facing Honagi.

The mentioned demon was sweating a lot thinking how she would get out of this situation. If she runs, she'll be killed by Kibutsuji. And that death is absolute. But if she fights Tanjiro and Kanao together, it'll be a battle she couldn't win either.

But her death is not guaranteed against them, unlike when Kibutsuji himself killed her. That's why she decided to gamble on fighting the two of them.

"Kill me thousands of times? Don't make me laugh. Just earlier, you two were beaten by me," she states arrogantly with an obvious forced smirk on her face. "Just because you beat those two doesn't mean lose on my part! They're a hindrance, that's all!"

She yelled at the last part, getting all worked up because of panic and frustration taking over her.

"That's right. They're a hindrance. On us, that is." Kanao said as she coldly looked towards Honagi.

"They've been annoying us and kept us from killing you."

Tanjiro and Kanao begun moving towards Honagi, who prepared herself and took a martial art stance.

"Blood Demon Art! Explosive Connect!"

"Breath of Dark, Second Form: Midnight Slash."

Tanjiro took her kick with a swing of his blade, and the two attacks collided making a strong impact on each other.

Before Honagi could pull her leg, Kanao had already cut it. And then she spun around while bending down and cut Honagi's other leg, too. Making her fall on the grounf without two of her limbs.

Tanjiro was about to deliver a finishing blow but he smell something off, the same scent as earlier. Another explosion technique.

"Bsck away, Kanao."

She did as instructed as jumped off, and at the same time, the legs that she cut exploded. Honagi didn't even think twice about doing that despite knowing her body would get caught up in the explosion. It's better than being decapitated.

Kanao, right on the time she landed, immediately dashed towards the smoke caused by the explosion along with Tanjiro.

Kanao could somehow see inside the smoke, while Tanjiro could smell of anything is weird. Having those abilities, they didn't hesitate to charge in despite the thick smoke.

But, Honagi had an enhanced version of both those, yet she couldn't do anything against their quick movements. Having clear eyes, and keen smell doesn't mean it will slow them down.

But despite that, she forced herself to fight them head-on. After healing her legs, she also ran towards them, ready to exchanged blow against the two of them.

Just like earlier, her fist and Tanjiro's blade collided multiple times. Each attacks she let on has a mix of explosion in it. Kanao on the other hand assisted Tanjiro by also slashing her, but Honagi was still able to keep up, but she's being pushed back.

Every time Tanjiro swings his sword, there's an imaginary black smoke that emitted from his sword, and there's a elegant pinkish spring-like flower at Kanao's every movement. While Honagi's each attack causes an explosion.

If you look at the battle in different perspective, it's so intense even though Honagi was being pushed back and cojld only defend and dodged. Despite her effort, she still took some slashes on part of her body.

To get away from this relentless attacks, she jumped in the air and did something like readying her legs for an attack.

Seeing that, Tanjiro and Kanao didn't dare to chase her not knowing what she'll do.
