𝐈𝐕𝐘 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐃 to her room after her encounter with Jess. Lorelai let her because she knew her daughter was going through something. Especially since that something was about a boy.
She blasted sad music the entire night before falling asleep. As usual, when she woke up Rory had to shake her awake before she dragged herself out of bed.
The Gilmores Girls walked to Luke's but stopped outside instead of going in.
"You're being completely childish." Rory scolded her mother.
"Am not."
"So what, we're never gonna go into Luke's again? We're just gonna starve?" she asked.
"Rory, this was a bad one, okay? This was not Nick and Nora, this was Sid and Nancy, and I'm not going in there." Lorelai complained.
"What even happened last night?" Ivy asked, feeling drowsy and in need of coffee.
"But the coffee is in there. And it's Danish Day. Are you seriously telling me that you're gonna let a stupid fight get in the way of Danish Day?" Rory pleaded.
"No, I'm not." Lorelai assured them.
"Good." Rory smiled.
"So go in there and order three coffees and danishes to go."
"You're kidding right?" Rory looked at her mother in disbelief. Ivy chuckling at the look on her sister's face.
"Is something funny, chuckles?" Lorelai asked. Ivy quickly shut up, smile falling from her face. "Yeah, thought so. You can go in, Rory will stay here with me."
Ivy groaned, sliding her hands down her face. "Fine." she grumbled, walking into the diner ignoring the smug look on Rory's face.
"Hey Luke." Ivy greeted, sliding into a seat by the counter.
"Ivy." he glanced nervously at the girl. "I heard about, uh, Jess."
Ivy winced, "You did?" Luke nodded.
"Well, long story short we dated over the summer and-"
"That's enough." Luke cut her off.
"I didn't even finish!"
"You Gilmore's have a tendency to overshare."
Ivy knew he was right so she didn't even bother to defend herself. She only sighed, "Three danishes and three coffees, please."
"Three?" he gave her a look. He saw right through her mother's attempt to send her daughter in instead.
"What can I say? I'm a growing girl."
Luke snorted. "Nice try. Your mom won't come in?"
"No, she won't!" Ivy complained. "I don't understand why. What did you guys even fight about?"
"It's not important." Luke waved it off.
"Well, it must be important if you're depriving two hungry children of danish day."
Luke rolled his eyes. "I'm not depriving you."
"Do you see three danishes and coffees in front of me? Because I sure don't."
Luke grumbled, pulling out one danish and started making a coffee for her. Ivy stared at her food and then back up at him.
"That's only one."
