🍂 — meetcutes and trina the dress
𝐈𝐕𝐘 𝐅𝐄𝐋𝐓 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐗𝐈𝐎𝐔𝐒 now than she had at her own debutante ball. She was meticulously fussing over Rory's dress, ensuring every inch was flawless.
"And remember, gentle steps. I can't have you stepping on the hem of the dress," Ivy reminded her, carefully fluffing the skirt.
"I got it, Ivy," Rory reassured her, smiling at her sister who was constantly circling her. "God, you're like a hawk."
"You have to take good care of Trina. She's my baby."
Rory laughed, "I will. Trina is in good hands."
"Good. Because Trina went through a lot to get here. She had to face the wrath of Emily Gilmore," Ivy joked, though it was true. Convincing their grandmother had required a lot of pleading and a bit of negotiating, but Ivy had finally succeeded.
"Well, Trina still has a long journey ahead. She has to get me through the presentation, the fan dance, and then the—" Rory was cut off as Ivy placed her hand over her mouth.
"Shh, you're scaring Trina," Ivy whispered.
"Screw Trina, I'm the one who's scared!" Rory exclaimed.
Ivy smiled softly at her sister. "You're going to do great, Rory. You'll impress all those preppy snobs with your beauty!"
"Are you sure you're not just saying that because I'm wearing your dress?" Rory asked, giving Ivy a skeptical look.
"No!" Ivy denied. "Of course not!"
Rory continued to stare at her, clearly unconvinced. Ivy fiddled with her hair, smiling sheepishly.
"Okay, fine. Maybe a little bit."
"I knew it," Rory tsked. "How shameless."
The two sisters couldn't maintain their serious expressions for long and soon burst into laughter, collapsing onto each other and holding hands.
Lorelai walked in on her daughters giggling on Rory's bed. "Uh, what is this?" she asked, baffled. "When did the party start and why wasn't I invited?"
Rory looked up at their mother, still fighting off her laughter. "Sorry, Mom."
"Yeah, it was a twins-only thing," Ivy added, sitting up fully.
Lorelai scoffed in mock offense. "Well, I can fit in. People say that I look like Brooke Shields twin."
"No one says that mom." the twins gave their mother a weird look.
"Uh, yeah they do."
"Who?"
"People."
The twins looked at each other, trying to decide whether or not to let their mother in on their little pre gaming party.
"What do you say?" Ivy whispered into Rory's ear.
"I say we let her in." Rory whispered back.
"But what about that whole Brooke Shields thing? How can we let her in after such an outrageous lie?"
Rory pulled back, giving Ivy a look. "You once thought you looked like Neve Campbell. You look nothing like her."
Ivy gaped at her sister, offended that she was being called out. "Fine." she huffed. She turned to her mother next, "You're in Brooke."
Lorelai squealed, jumping onto the bed.
"Hey, watch the dress!"
