(Skylar's POV)
"Really funny. Now tell me what's going on before I call the police." I protest, pulling out my cell phone. He easily takes it from my hand and throws it on the bed. I pout, pacing the room. Maybe I could make a run for it, but judging by his size that probably means he has speed as well. There goes one option, this day has just gotten worse and worse. After the long silence and my death stare, he sighs, sitting down on the bed. His eyes drift to the ground as he puts his hand on his neck, rubbing it slightly. "Is this some kind of joke? because it is certainly not funny." I complain, crossing my arms.
"No. It's not funny. It got taken too far." He admits, still not meeting my eyes. "It was supposed to be a joke, pulling just a little prank. Taking something and just seeing if you'd notice. My friends got a little carried away... That's when I got out of there. It was wrong." He tells me, finally meeting my eyes.
"Why'd you go back in my room?" I ask.
"I had to see if you were hot or not." He says, with a smirk. "Now I see.. I shouldn't of bothered." He shakes his head, with a grin. I roll my eyes, climbing over to the other side again, locking the window.
"Aw you actually believed me?" He snorts, in a teasing tone.
The last thing I see before I shut the curtains is his confident smirk. I let out a sigh, I do not do well in the gullible category. I lift clothes off the ground, tossing them back in the closet, and try to get everything somewhat organized. I look back to the cracked photograph sitting on the desk. Stupid boys. This is why I don't like teenagers. Careless. Reckless. Violent. I can see what they meant by cooties. I go downstairs to see my little brother, Nick, is playing video games.
"ITS A KILLSHOT" He screams. Violent. My point exactly.
(Jeffrey's POV)
"Julia?" I whisper, as she lays in bed with me, watching Netflix. She raises her head, and her eyes lock with mine. "Are you alright?" I ask.
"Yep. Fine." She assures me, it doesn't really sound convincing, but I shrug it off. She looks back to me with a disgusted face.
"What" I say.
"I'm fine." She coughs.
"I heard? I believe you." I insist, she rolls her eyes and climbs out of the bed, walking through the door. What did I do?
*Hours Later*
"Hey Jeff." Skylar announces, without knocking. She throws me a cold coke with "Share a Coke with Skylar on it" I laugh at the small gesture, placing the coke down.
"So it's Jeff now?" I ask with a small smile, she turns back to me with a laugh. "I thought it was Miller?" I tell her.
"Oh shut up." She complains, hitting me with a folder.
"You love me though." I blurt out. Crap. What. Stupid Mouth. Well Brain. Well... Heart? I'm screwed. Why do bad things happen to good people? Well am I a good person? Probably not. Whether I am or not I'm utterly screwed. Help. I'm done. I'm going to have a heart attack brb. Surprisingly she laughs with her back to me, grabbing work out of her bag. Woo that was close.
"You wish." She retaliates, with a smile, looking over at me. I choke on my spit, I cover it by coughing, hoping she doesn't notice.
w-what?
(Julia's POV)
Boys are stupid. I mean Jeffrey of all people should know that fine is not fine. I hate insensitive people. He could've asked me what's wrong. Honestly, this breakup might not even be as hard as I thought.
(A/N) OoooooOooOOoOoooOOoOooOo ok I'm lame but I'll try and update before the week is over because this was so short. I'm so freaking excited for this book I swear it's not healthy.
