(Jeffrey's POV)
"So, I was sitting at home drinking my tea, reading the paper, with the record player playing 'Go Tell it on the Mountains' "She cuts off, closing her eyes and humming the song. It's a good two minutes before I intervene.
"Grammy!" I scream.
"what?" She asks
"You were telling me what happened..." I tell her, annoyed.
"Oh right, silly me." She says, pushing her glasses up on her nose. "So all of a sudden during Miranda's high note did you know that she passed away a few-" She grabs on.
"years ago. Now get back to it." I interrupt.
"Then this horrid noise flooded the room. I thought it was the AR-50 hunting me down from the World War so I hid under the bed." she explains.
"how would a bed protect you from a bomb?" I ask.
"well-" she starts
"just get on with it." I demand.
"Then this voice came on I thought it was the iRobots and they came from the future and Will Smith wasn't born yet to save us!!" She almost yells.
"ok.. and?" I ask.
"Then she said you were in the hospital and I knew no matter what dangerous robots wanted to eat me I had to get here." She insists, with a quick smile.
"Wait.. So that's it? That's all you know?" I ask her.
"Well, what else would I know??" She questions.
"Do they have the girl's number?" I blurt out.
"what girl?" She asks.
"The girl that helped me." I tell her.
"I do!!" She exclaims, I raise an eyebrow at the piece of paper she scribbled on quickly.
"Grammy... this is your number." I groan.
"Yeah, that's what you wanted, right?" She asks.
"I wanted the girl's-" I start.
"First, you're too young for that kind of ambition. Second are you calling me a man?" She interrupts, offended.
"God Grammy you didn't let me finish... I want the girl's number that helped me the other night." I explain.
"Oh I don't have that." She admits.
"Well that's 20 years of my life I'll never be getting back." I mutter.
"You're welcome. Sincerely your grandfather." She rolls her eyes.
(Skylar's POV)
"So you wouldn't???" Katie asks, chewing on a carrot.
"I am not going to babysit some stranger's kid that you're supposed to be babysitting so you can go on a date." I remark.
"but it's with Shawn. Please it'll only be an hour." She begs.
"Forget it, Katie." I mutter grabbing my water bottle off the table.
"Hey losers." Anika announces, sitting next to me on the table.
"Hey Anika! Can you do me a favor??" Katie asks.
"Katie." I interrupt, she rolls her eyes and takes a sip of water.
"So how was the hospital?" Anika smirks.
"He'll be alright. Fractured pelvic." I inform her.
"Damn." Anika says with frustration.
"What?" I ask.
