Chapter 17 | The accident

The alarm clock had gone off exactly at 5:00 am , a tired Rainbow let out a frustrated groan, she didn't enjoy being disturbed from her rest, she turned and reached for her phone turning off the alarm, laying in bed snuggled up in her blankets, her eyes slowly fluttering shut again just to doze off. Soon enough she heard the taps of her mother's steps.

Windy Whistles had made her way up to check on Rainbow, noticing her asleep and hesitated to speak, suddenly she noticed the girl open her eyes, "I'm up." Rainbow started to move before her mom interrupted. "No no, it's fine-. You and your sister deserve a break, so I called the school.." she said as Rainbow looked at her. "And?" She asked tiredly still snuggled in her blankets.

"I said you two are sick." She knew she lied but also she didn't, she knew that this was hard for her children let alone her. "So go ahead and sleep sweet heart."

"Ok Mom." RD then relaxed, it felt great to. She soon drifted back into a deep sleep.

Windy whistles had checked in on RD and then Derpy, she knew Derpy would be asleep because Rainbow always woke her up. But today she wanted the two of them to rest and take it easy, also she needed to make sure they were at home to make sure her husband was not to check them out.

She stared at her computer there was an Online Divorce file was in her face. She had not brought it up with her kids , or even to HotHoof, because she was afraid but also she needed to get them out of such a hell hole.

She had then closed her computer due to being overwhelmed, she sat back and thought of when she met him, she was still in college while he was just a young racer. It felt like a forced love between them. Because he made headlines a lot and when people noticed her being around him a lot , it seemed to make her believe he loved her and that she loved him.

But deep down she did love him, but it's faded slowly due to hate , hatefulness that he had caused. Because he never showed he loved her anymore, she felt her heart break thinking of it now. She then thought of when Thier daughter was born. He was the happiest then, and about 3 years later they adopted Derpy. He was a great father , he was never cruel he was protective loving husband and father but it all changed. It was about ten years ago.

It was a regular day on the tracks , he was racing against other hotshots as he sped pass, sounds of motors and smell of burnt rubber surrounded as kids and people chimed loud cheering on which ever car that caught Thier eye.

Some people were making bets, some were there for genuine fun. It was a hot day, and some children roared. "Go Bow!" A younger boy screamed his wings up as a girl beside him with Rainbow hair jumped up and down holding her little sisters hand as they cheered. "Go daddy!" The younger one repeated. Another girl clapped her hands beside them.

Soarin , Rainbow Dash , Derpy and Fluttershy were there with Windy Whistles who stood by them watching with worry and yet excitement. She cheered a bit as she noticed one the cars, it hit into the side of Bows clearly startling him which would make him try and dodge but it was to late, as he turned with to much force ,the car lost control. It flipped basically over flying a bit before hitting the ground.

Bow had his hands on the wheel he kept there , he had a sharp pain in his back, and his leg. He cursed loudly,
Paramedics had jumped Thier way to the Car, as Racers started to return to Thier places and watch from afar.

"Bow!" A rasped voice yelled it was a male with white wings and trying to push to the car. Soarin watched his dad and held his dear friends as of Windy she had placed her wings around the four of these children witnessing the wreck of her husband.

Rainbow held Derpy close as for Fluttershy she was so scared she clung to RD and Soarin he kept his arms as far around the girls, he watched his dad struggle , he could tell his dad was angered and worried, eventually they pulled the man from the car, he had been placed on a stretcher, he waved his arm up with a fist showing he was alright but, something wasn't right.

His wings they were broken, his leg was getting supported and his face showed brokenness , that was the final time Bow Hot Hoof had ever raced.

Windy snapped out for the memory and clearly was crying she wiped her eyes and straightened up. She went to go make herself some coffee. She was not sure what she should do.

She couldn't fix his brokenness the same she's noticed from him that very day, but she could help her children heal, even if it meant Bow having to leave.

And now all he was is a self centered , to good for others , man.
He came home from his daily routine, eat supper drink a beer snap at his children till eventually he would lay hands on one of them or her.

Event though he was just a broken man, it didn't mean what he was doing was correct. She stood up and decided to head to the door, she needed fresh air.

// sorry this chapter is kinda sloppy but some back story..don't worry tho I'll get back to RD and AJ soon just thinking of ideas, anyone have some I could use some.🥝//
