(Drizzy's POV)

I sat in the lobby of the police station waiting for Romeo to come out with the rest of the guys. He's been here all night but they're questioning him today so he should be leaving soon.

I really screwed this up for him, this wasn't how this was supposed to go. No one was supposed to be able to pin on Romeo because we were supposed to leave before anyone could truly pin us there and then Billie, Romeo's other best friend, was supposed to get in then get out after beating Josh up.

Romeo distracted me, I forgot all about leaving the party.

Billie's been on my arse about it all night ever since she found out Romeo was arrested. She's acting like that was my whole plan when she knows it wasn't.

Romeo and Riva walk out from the back and we all rush over to greet them. "Hey, are you okay?" Draco asks Romeo.

"Yeah, I just--" Romeo looks over at me before glaring at me and walking out of the building.

"Romeo, wait!" I call after him. I'm about to follow him but I'm stopped.

"Dresden Jackson?" One of the police calls. I stop in my tracks and turn to face them. He looks at me sternly and motions for me to follow him.

I start to but Riva stops me. "I need to check on Romeo, don't say anything until I get in there. I'll represent you both. These cops will say anything to get you to speak and use all of it against you." I nod and she rushes outside.

I follow the cop to the interrogation room. They have me sit down but then they walk out of the room. Soon, a new cop walks in. "Drizzy? Right? Can I get you anything?" He smiles.

I try to listen to what Riva said and I don't say a word.

Another cop walks in. "Okay," he sits down, "we can make this quick, you just need to confirm what we already know. Romeo told us the whole story. He told us all about the scheme and what the two of you were trying to do."

I stay quiet, I don't believe he gave anything up. He didn't even know what was going on.

"All we need to know is why you said what said." The second one says. I don't budge.

"This is probably all so mind-racking right now," the first cop, the smiley cop, says as he... smiles... "Take some time and piece together all of the information. We just want to make sure the stories add up. You and Romeo are friends, right? You're even in a group together? I'm sure he didn't give your name up without a good reason."

Giving my name up makes sense anyway, he just thought we were playing a harmless prank. Of course, he had good reason.

"Yeah, he had good reason," the glaring cop.... ....glares, "the two of you were up to no good. The two of you went to the party with the sole purpose of finding Josh Wilcox and it was all your idea, wasn't it? Romeo just jumped in on it because he found out it was his ex involved in the matter."

"He didn't even know what--" I stop. How can I not sit here and stay quiet?

"He didn't even know what?" Glaring cop asks. "He had the motive if you ask me. Maybe we've got it wrong. This whole thing could've been Romeo's idea after all. It checks out. You wanted to help a friend and bandmate get back at his abusive ex."

I glare at him.

"Or maybe... you had no idea and Romeo threw you under the bus. Maybe you're not so much of friends after all. The other band members were busy and you had a party you wanted to go to. Bring a friend, throw back some beers... all of the good stuff. Initially, Romeo was busy but when he heard his ex was there, going with you and spending time with you was the perfect alibi. Sound about right? Using your name was just his way of getting out of spending another night in the cell, that is when he decided to tell us about it-- when we mentioned he'd be staying."

"Romeo isn't like that." I point out. "He's not just gonna say ish to get himself out of trouble. And he's not vengeful."

"So what was it? You orchestrated the whole plan yourself?"

"I--"

Riva walks into the room and I hurriedly zip my mouth. "I'm here," she says, "they wouldn't let me past the front desk. Where were we?"
