(Romeo's POV)

Knowing Draco said he'd be back Monday-- today, we wait for him in the living room since he wanna act like he can't give us answers over the phone.

It makes me believe more and more that the whole thing was real. Neither him or Kamron knew about it until we told them on Friday after we finally got in touch with them. They were probably somewhere together the whole weekend.

I didn't think he would do something like that but it's starting to look like I was wrong.

Draco walks in and we all pounce to ask him questions. "Wait! Before you guys pummel me with questions, it's not true! Any of it! I can explain!"

"So, explain because to me it just seems like everything is clicking into place." Marcus points out and I nod in agreeance.

"I know how it looks and it looks really bad. It does but I swear it's not like that! We were hanging out in secret-- for the most part-- but it's not a secret relationship or anything else. Man, it's not even a real friendship. Kamron told me I could tell you guys what it is but I still really rather it be a surprise."

"Where is Kamron?" James asks. "We're not strangers she could still come here to explain."

"She had other people she said she needed to talk to." Draco says.

"So, you guys really did spend the weekend together?" I ask.

"No, I mean... half-together Thursday and Friday but Saturday and Sunday I was somewhere else. I was with my girlfriend trying to explain this whole fricked up thing to her!" Draco explains before sighing. "It didn't work, she's pissed."

"This whole thing is fricked up because you're constantly keeping secrets!" I point out. "I didn't even know you had a girlfriend!"

"...I was taking it slow." Draco mumbles. "I was gonna bring her to meet you guys but that's probably wrecked now."

"Obviously," Marcus scoffs, "in some of those pictures, you and her are literally kissing! Nothing could explain that!"

"That's the thing! It's not me! ...I-In those ones... The car one with the kiss doesn't even look like me!" Draco shouts. "The other car ones are me and... the other stuff but they were simple! It was hugs and sitting near each other and talking!"

"...Convenient." Marcus sighs.

"It's true!" Draco says. "We hang out-- She's seeing someone! Call her." Draco sits on the couch, giving up as he flips through the mail.

"I don't believe you." James says sitting next to him.

Sighing, I say, "I do. I don't think he'd do this even though the evidence is super suspicious. The car kissing one was hard to see."

"This is part where you say you know me so well you just know that wasn't my face." Draco looks up at me before opening an envelope.

"You're pushing it now." I roll my eyes at him.  He reads the letter and his eyes widen. "What?" I ask.

"Great, now Drizzy has a vendetta against me." He sighs. "He thinks I did it. He said countdown the time. I doubt he'll open any letter I-- wait-- He thinks I sent one already."

"Did you?" I ask.

"No. I can't figure out what to say to him." Draco says.

"You couldn't tell him you were sleeping with his ex-fiancee?" Marcus asks.

"I'm not though, that's the thing."

"... ... ...Fine. I believe you too." Marcus says.

Stubbornly, James shakes his head. "I can't believe this. I can't believe him. It's not like he has an innocent track record."

"In this sense? Yes, I do." Draco scoffs. "I don't know what you think but I don't sleep with my friend's exes."

"I just--" James again shakes his head and walks off.

I sigh and stand up. "I'll talk to him."

Marcus puts a hand on my shoulder. "You're always going after the stormer-outter, I've got it this time." He assures me and walks out of the room.

"I don't understand his issue with me?" Draco says. "Why is it so hard for him to believe?"

"I wish I knew and I could tell you. ...Marcus stole my thunder though, I like helping people after dramatic exits." I playfully twist my smile.

He playfully rolls his eyes at me with a smile. "Thanks anyway though, for actually believing me. Other than Kamron, you were the first."

"Is this the part where I say, of course I believe you. I know you like the back of my hand, you could never do something like this." I ask and he nods. "Too bad. That's not what I'm saying. I just think it'd be horrifyingly hypocritical of you to call me a terrible friend for kissing Drizzy and then you do the same to him."

"That's true."

"And write to Drizzy. For real. Okay?"

"... ... ...I'll... ....try."

"Thank you."
