☆*:..｡story starts when it was hot & it was summer｡.:*☆

After the belly flop, I finally walked into the house. It was just as beautiful as I remember. It was all Susannah. Speaking of Susannah, she was right there with the other moms who were putting away the groceries we all just brought, "Oh there she is, my radiant girl" Susannah said as she walked towards me with her arms open for a hug. "Hi Anna," I said with a smile as I hugged her, "how is it possible you have gotten even more beautiful, beautiful girl?" she asked, I giggled, not just because I'm awkward when getting complimented but because I was just asking that question about her son a few moments ago. "I don't know I think I look pretty much the same" I say with a shrug. "Oh no my darling, you have really blossomed," she said reassuringly. Susannah had a way of saying things that almost made me believe her. After spending another minute or two with the moms in the kitchen I went upstairs to my room. I love my room in the summer house. It's so me. Susannah let me decorate it however I wanted and it was always the same when I got back the following summer.

Close to an hour later, I had finished unpacking everything and making sure my room was perfect. I didn't want it to look like my room back home. It was messy and disorganized and just completely resembled depression. I want this room to have none of that, because here I'm happy and free and where I sleep should show that.

I was starting to get bored so I decided to go downstairs and see what everyone's up to. The first thing I see is Steven and Gabe playing Mario Cart on the tv. Gabe really loves Steven and Steven really loves Gabe. I guess they're the brothers they never got. "What's up gremlins" I called out to the two. They both shushed me immediately. "You can't distract greatness Jo" Steven told me, eyes glued to the tv in front of them. "Yeah right, you're going down" Gabe countered. I laughed at the two and decided to leave them alone. "Ok ok, jeez. Have fun losing Stevie" I said before walking out into the kitchen where I found the moms. "Hey guys watcha doin..?" I asked the three. They were sitting on the stools of the island, sipping wine. "Just catching up" my mom replied. "Mainly catching Beck up" Laurel added since we see the conklins almost daily. "Oh, nice. Do you know where everyone else is?" I asked. "Belly and Jeremiah went to the beach about an hour ago," Susannah answered me. "And Conrad?" I added. "I have no clue. I can't keep tabs on that kid these days" she answered again sounding defeated. "Ok, well I'm gonna chill by the pool then and wait for one of them to come back," I said walking out to the backyard. "Ok, be ready for dinner at 5" my mom called out before I walked out, I nodded as I left. I loved this pool. It held so many memories and so much laughter. It felt kind of lonely in the back by myself. I didn't really have friends back home, it was just the Conklins and Taylor but Taylor was really more Belly's friend. I floated in the pool wishing Conrad would come back from wherever he is and come swim with me. We used to love racing together, just the two of us for hours on end having fun and spending time together. It was about an hour later when I checked the time and saw it was already 4:36. I hurried out of the pool so I could get ready for the first dinner at the summer house. As I walked in I saw I got a message from Jeremiah.

Jere Bear 🧸: Hey wanna come to a bonfire with us tonight?

Belly said she's coming too

Jojo 🪩: Yeah, I'm so down

Jere Bear 🧸 : ok we're leaving like 20 minutes after dinner

Jojo 🪩 : Okk <3

This was good. I had some plans and I would be able to hang out with everyone. Maybe I'll even get a chance to talk to Conrad. I'm really excited.

I want Jo's room  😫 anyways... I had no clue what to title this chapter so I went the easy way and chose a Taylor Swift lyric. Chapters 4 and 5 are coming in a bit and I might write 6 tonight and you'll get it tmmr. hope you guys are enjoying so far 🫶
