Once we got our drinks, belly getting a lemonade, me getting a red solo cup of vodka and the tiniest bit of coke, we sat apart from the people by the water. About 20 minutes of me and belly talking and drinking some guy named Cam comes up to us, to belly really. After seeing that they knew each other and that belly was comfortable I excused myself. "Hey bells im gonna get another drink" I told her "Oh I can come with you" she offered "No it's fine you stay here and talk to Cam" I said as I was already walking away. Cam was cute and respectful and Belly seemed to have a good time talking to him. It was super cute. I walked over to the drinks getting myself a refill. I was pretty tipsy already but after what happened earlier with Conrad I wanted to forget. Drinking to forget wasn't anything new I did it a lot back home when my parent's fighting gets too hard to handle. I also started smoking weed with some kids at my school. We weren't best friends but they let me tag along and they were pretty nice so I hung around with them sometimes. After getting a refill I saw Jeremiah from afar with a group of people. I sort of stumbled my way to them.

After about 30 minutes of being around jere and his group, I was pretty wasted. I was having a lot of fun and not even about Conrad and the girl he was with. I was drunkenly dancing with some girls from the group, whose names I didn't know, while jere and some other people hyped us up. After another song or two, I sat down on the sand to catch my breath. That's when a boy from the group came to sit next to me. He was really cute, he had blonde hair and brown eyes and a really nice smile. "Hey" he said "Hiii" I said "Oh here" he said as he handed me a sealed water bottle, "I thought you could use a break from alcohol" he said with a nervous chuckle. "Thank you," I said. He seems really sweet. I was really thirsty and I was kind of sick of alcohol so I almost chugged the water as he introduced himself. "I'm Asher," he said "I'm Jo. Johannah actually but everyone calls me Jo" I said slurring my words a bit. "Oh like Jo from Little Women" he added "OMG YOuve seen Little Women!!!" I exclaimed in shock. He's perfect, I thought.

We talked for 15 minutes getting to know each other. He's also 17 and he lives here in cousins with his mom, dad, and little sister. I also learned he's best friends with Cam who Belly is still talking to. I told him about me and my brother and the summer house. "Yeah I come every sum–" I was half through saying until we heard shouting by the drinks table "Yo dude that's my beer" I looked to the voice to see it was Conrad arguing with the guy belly met at the gas station. "Holy shit. That's actually my friend and I gotta go help him, I'll be right back" I told Asher stumbling away towards the two drunk guys arguing. "No that's my beer I paid for it!" Conrad said as I got closer. The girl he was with earlier was trying to calm him down but had no luck. "Connie what's going on," I asked standing between the two trying to mediate the situation. "This ashole took my beer. It's mine!" Conrad told me still eyeing the gas station guy." Ok, it's fine well get you another one, just leave it " I told him calming him down. "Yeah listen to your whore" gas station guy said and before I got the chance to react and slap the shit out of him I got pushed aside and saw Conrad throw punches at the guy. I tried to stop it but ended up getting elbowed in the eye by the guy, which distracted Conrad from the fight, which ended up in the guy throwing more punches. The next thing I knew they were full-on fighting and Belly was helping me up. Everything was spinning and my head was throbbing, I guess alcohol and getting hit in the head wasn't a good mix. Who knew? "Cops!!" someone shouted as the lights and sirens began. Everyone was running. Jeremiah grabbing his brother from the floor, belly helping me run to the car with Cameron behind us. "Wait, Jo!" I hear from behind me. It was Asher "Hey," I said as I stopped running to let him catch up. "I know this is bad timing but I didn't get your number earlier, " he said "Oh yeah," I said. I gave him my number and said bye, Belly said bye to Cam and both boys ran to their car and we ran to ours. By the time we got to the car Jeremiah was in the driver's seat and Conrad was sprawled in the backseat. Belly got in the passenger seat and I got in the back next to Conrad. I relaxed as I sat down finally taking a moment to breathe, We started driving and as soon as I closed my eyes I opened them up again when my body jolted forward from the hard stop of the car "Fuck, Steven!" Jeremiah yelled as he got out the car to find Steven. "Belly watch those two" It was quiet and then I felt someone playing with the ends of my hair. "your hair is like a kid's the way it's always so messy," Conrad said tugging at the ends of my long brown hair. I just looked at him the way I always do, eyes full of love. I almost forgot Belly was still in the car with us. His eyes looked in love too. "Jo I-" Conrad started until he got interrupted by a knock on the window. "Have you kids been drinking?"
