Someone was poking my cheek.
As soon as I opened my eyes, a familiar face struck by rays of sunlight greeted my sight. He was laying beside me, staring into me, and... WAIT.
I got up, surprised by his presence. I shook my head and looked away, but the door suddenly opened, which took my attention.
"Icarus, anong nangyar—"
Two of them walked into the room so quickly that they caught me with a guy on my side. I was planning to push him off the bed, but it was already too late.
They gasped in unison. "Oh my god," Annie uttered, covering her eyes like we had done something wrong.
"Annie, it's not what you're thinking," I said to calm her down.
They both looked at each other, holding back something, and nodding, and about to leave the room. "Hey! Annie, Kristelle!" I called them to come back, but they left the room and ran down the hallway.
I looked back at the guy on my bed. He's just there—suddenly doing push-ups? The hell is going on with him?
At the pool grounds, Annie, Kristelle and I shared one table, drinking some coffee. Dave was still resting in their room, so it was just the three of us. "Sorry about last night. Hindi ka na namin nasama sa beach, kasi high na kami," Annie apologized.
"It's okay. You don't have to apologize. I might've gone back here immediately if I did," I replied. "Neither of you told me he's coming."
"Sorry about that, too. If we have said about that no'ng niyaya ka namin, baka umatras ka," Kristelle added.
I just sighed in disappointment. "Anyway, what you have seen up there in my room, it's nothing. He slept, snoring his ass beside me. Glad I still fell asleep, with a stranger on my bed."
Then, I noticed Annie's lips were pointing somewhere behind me. When I turned my head, I saw that guy heading towards our table. The three of us went silent, as I rolled my eyes. When he walked past us, he tapped my shoulder before going to the other table where Sheena and her gang were hanging.
"What was that?" Kristelle asked after she noticed that tap on my shoulder.
"I don't even know what that was for?!" I exclaimed in silence.
"Maybe you should give him a chanc—"
"NO. BIG N.O.," I declared. "Why would I? Taken na 'yan 'di ba?"
"Yeah," Annie said, but then quickly crossed her brows at me. "But wait, updated ka sa kanya?"
"Hindi no," I shook my head.
They looked at each other. "Updated," they said, nodding in unison.
"Hmp, pakipot ka pa. Siya pa rin pala," Annie muttered, which was something to disagree with.
"Why would you even say that?"
"Guts, Icarus. Our suspicions are the truth, most of the time."
I rolled my eyes again. "Whatever. This ain't high school. I'm not into him anymore."
Then, we heard loud cheers and laughs from the other side of the pool. They were teasing someone from the group, and all of a sudden, they turned their heads to us.
"Oh, ba't nakatingin sila sa'tin?" Annie asked.
Their phones suddenly rang from a notif. When they checked it, their eyes traveled from their screen to me. "What's wrong?"
